Today’s Team: Softshell Dancers
S/S Jademist Dancer (Steam Vent, Rain Dance, Geyser)
H/S Harmonious Porcupette (Scratch, Celestial Blessing, Tranquility)
P/P Emperor Crab (Snap, Healing Wave, Whirlpool)

Strategy:
I got Yu’la today in the hopes of having another pet to cast Celestial Blessing. Let me tell ya, all it made me do is want to use my Harmonious Porcupette. I just couldn’t get it to work for me so I decided to go back to my magic porcupette. My strategy with the Harmonious Porcupette has been to give it team mates that hit hard but die a little too easily. The Celestial Blessing will provide a little bit of a longer life. The pets that need a little help staying alive on this team are the Emperor Crab and the Jademist Dancer. Both hit hard, both are a tad on the fragile side. With the Crab I chose more offense with Whirlpool rather than shield since I have the Blessing.

Concerns:
As fun as Harmonious Porcupette is to use, I haven’t come up with a really competitive team with it. I fear this will be another. It’s just lacking something.

The Opposing Team:
P/P Stunted Direhorn
P/B Crow
P/S Toothy
Not sure what the strategy is here, but those are all decent pets.

The Battle:
102313AI start with the Porcupette while my opponent starts with Toothy. They immediately swap to the Crow, giving me a free turn to use my Blessing. I know the one-two punch of Darkness and Nocturnal Strike is coming but I didn’t swap to get the Blessing, not sure what I was thinking there. I take the Darkness with my Porcupette and use Scratch on the Crow. Better late than never I swap to the Jademist Dancer in order to get the Blessing. It helped when the Nocturnal Strike hit for only 316 damage. After using the hard hitting moves of the Crow my opponent swapped to Toothy. A Geyser went down on the swap. I feel reasonably safe since Toothy will likely Rip before trying Blood In The Water so I Rain Dance. The Rip misses thanks to Darkness. I get off a Steam Vent that crits for over 600 while the next Rip lands.

102313BI go back to the Porcupette while watching the Blood In The Water miss and the Geyser hit. The Crow came back to change the weather to Darkness again while I used Scratch. I use another Blessing and bring back in the Jademist Dancer to face the Crow. I hit a few buffed Steam Vents then an unbuffed to finish off the Crow. The Direhorn came in and I got another Geyser down. The Direhorn finished off the Jademist Dancer, so I brought in the Porcupette but it got Charged and died before I could get off a Blessing. Now it’s up to the unblessed Crab to finish off a little bit of Toothy and the Direhorn. It came down to whether or not the interrupts could hit. They didn’t and the Crab was victorious.
