Today’s Team: I Need A Chick
S/S Alpine Hare (Flurry, Dodge, Burrow)
H/H Robo-Chick (Peck, Overtune, Wind-Up)
H/H Unborn Val’kyr (Shadow Slash, Curse Of Doom, Haunt)

Strategy:
I got this idea from Snow’s comments from yesterday’s battle (9/29/13). The basic plan is to Haunt and possibly Curse the opposing pet with the Val’kyr then swap to the Hare who can stall by using Dodge and Burrow.

The Robo-Chick is there to provide a flying attack in the form of Peck for any aquatics I might face. The Chick also has Wind-Up for any beasts that might threaten my Hare. My preferred breed and build for the Robo-Chick is S/S with Batter, but since I’m using Peck there’s really no need for all of that speed. I decided to head out to Winterspring and find an H/H Chick. It only took about eight abandoned battles to find a poor quality H/H Chick. A stone, a pet treat and three tamers later I have my rare level 25 H/H Robo-Chick. I’ve never used an H/H mechanical before but I’ve faced them and all of their hp before. This Chick has a total of 2167 hp: 1806 to start and then 361 from Failsafe. It hopefully has enough to outlast any end of game Haunts I decide to chance. I hope I didn’t waste a stone!

Concerns:
The Robo-Chick was brought on for its move Peck. Peck is a 100% accuracy soft hitting attack to begin with, but combine that with the 244 power of the H/H breed and it’ll only hit for 264 damage. If I’m not facing an aquatic that’s pretty weak. The 10% buff from Wind-Up will help, but will it be enough.

The Opposing Team:
P/B Zandalari Toenibbler
H/S Pet Bombling
H/S Skywisp Moth
The Zandalari raptors always scare me a bit, as do the Mines. Overall it doesn’t seem like too difficult a team unless I’m missing something.

The Battle:
093013BI start with my Val’kyr and my opponent starts with the Toenibbler. I have to take a strong Flank before I get my Haunt off. I originally planned on bringing in the Hare next but that beast is just too juicy of a target for my Robo-Chick I Overtune, then charge Wind-Up. I’m expecting the Toenibbler to swap out but it doesn’t. I release the Wind-Up and watch the Toenibbler die. That was easy. The Val’kyr didn’t do much Haunting and now it’s on the back line ready to go again.

093013DThe Bombling comes in and I swap to the Val’kyr before the Minefield goes down. With all of that hp I decide to use Curse Of Doom before Haunt. One of my pets is going to have to eat the Minefield and I choose the Hare. I Dodge then Flurry twice and after the second one the Curse hit, brining the Bombling to 0 hp. Haunt ticked after Failsafe activated so it was easy enough to kill off the Bombling with another Flurry. The Val’kyr is alive again.

093013AThe Skywisp comes out so I bring back the Val’kyr for a final Haunt. I don’t know if that was necessary but why take chances. The Skywisp makes matters worse for itself by casting Lightning. The Robo-Chick Pecks along with the Haunt ticks easily kill it off. This wasn’t the most synergistic opposing team to play against, and it went well for me as it should have. The H/H Chick seems like it has some potential but of course I’ll have to test it against a more formidable opponent.

I’m never sure what I want to eat the minefield if it goes down. I think the valk might be the best choice with its hp and ability to haunt on its immortal round.
