Gone Wildin’
It’s been a long time since I tried using only wild caught pets, it’s time to give em’ a shot in the queue. I tried a few test runs before the write-up and lost three battles already. Oh well, it’s not like I have any new teams to showcase and running my own overpowered teams gets boring pretty fast. I’ll try to take my losses with a grin :).

Battle 1: Disco’s Destroyers
Spirit Crab, Mongoose Pup, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling
vs. Death Adder Hatchling, Unborn Val’kyr, Anubisath Idol

092014ALet the grinning begin. This battle sucked because I had the tools to win it. Unfortunately something came up in real life that I had to focus on so my attention was elsewhere. I should be used to losing to idols by now, but it still stings. I hate that pet.
Record: 0-1

Battle 2: Winterspring Warriors
Robo-Chick, Rabid Nut Varmint, Alpine Hare
vs. Cinder Kitten, Alterac Brew-Pup, De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion

092014BThis battle was damn close. I had to make sure to keep all of that elemental damage away from my mechs, which I did by first using my bunny against the Cinder Kitten and then by killing the ABP so fast it never got an Avalanche off. Go go Wind-Up release on a beast.
Record: 1-1

Battle 3: Croak And Bone
Spirit Crab, Swamp Croaker, Lost Of Lordaeron
vs. Fiendish Imp, Warbot, Lil’ Ragnaros

092014CDamn I forgot how brutal the Warbot can be. It was a bad time to face such a strong team as this because I was trying something new with the LOL. I wanted to try out Bone Prison to trap the front pet while I AoE’d the back line. It was a bad idea since Arcane Explosion pretty much sucks against everything except flyers. I back lined the frog with Bubble up so I wouldn’t have to eat a second mine which saved me from a lot of damage. Alas, that still wasn’t going to be enough to get the win… until my opponent handed it to me on a platter. The frog came in with 157 hp against a 1k+ hp Lil’ Ragnaros. I cast Bubble. Rather than smash through the block a Magma Trap was thrown. That allowed me to get off three straight Water Jets without taking any damage. Thanks for the win. Damn you making the Warbot look bad!
Record: 2-1

Battle 4: The Usuals
Spirit Crab, Robo-Chick, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Chrominius, Chrominius

092014DI’m grinning less than I thought I would be. I thought it was a Haunt and Howl combo but one of the dragons had Ancient Blessing. The Scalded Basilisk was the hero since it was faster than all three of the opposing pets. If that’s the case it can dominate. If it’s slower then it’s worthless; that’s why I consider a somewhat risky pet to use. I still consider it one of my favorites even though I don’t use it as much. Easy win.
Record: 3-1

Battle 5: Unfortunate Yeti
Fel Flame, Stunted Yeti, Scourged Whelpling
vs. Singing Sunflower, Amber Moth, Sunreaver Micro-Sentry

092014EWhenever the Stunted Yeti wins a battle I should eat a cookie. I wasn’t exactly facing a great team here, but Sunlight and Photosynthesis can give you problems. At the end of the battle I timed Bash so that the dirty flower couldn’t cast Photosynthesis and the two lost turns of healing left it vulnerable. I feel like doing more battles but bedtime calls. The wild pets did better than expected.
Record: 4-1
