Today’s Team: Return Of The Weirdo
P/S Mini Mindslayer (Eyeblast, Amplify Magic, Interrupting Gaze)
H/H Unborn Val’kyr (Shadow Slash, Curse Of Doom, Haunt)
H/S Kovok (Poison Fang, Pheromones, Blinding Poison)

Strategy:
Amplify Magic has been working extremely well with Pheromones so I thought about what other moves might benefit from it. Haunt is a powerful move right now that has a long enough duration to out last the application of Pheromones and Amplify Magic. The plan is to start with the Val’kyr, bring in Kovok on the free swap then swap to the Mindslayer for Amplify Magic. I didn’t want to have two undead pets so instead of the Spirit Crab I’m using the Mini Mindslayer to apply Amplify Magic. My meta has seen a lot more really slow pets, so Interrupting Gaze on a 289 speed pet might prove useful.

Concerns:
The Mindslayer isn’t going to make the top of anyone’s PvP pet list, it’s not that great. There are so many Val’kyrs around right now that people know how to counter them well.

The Opposing Team:
P/S Fiendish Imp
P/S Crawling Claw
H/S Direhorn Runt

The Battle:
103013AI just love when swappers do your job for you. I used Pheromones and the Imp Gated out Kovok to the Mindslayer, thanks buddy. The Mindslayer Amplifies making the Pheromones hit for over 200 a pop. I use Eyeblast on the Imp then my opponent swaps to the Claw. The Claw swaps out the Mindslayer to Kovok. After a Poison Fang the Claw puts a Curse on Kovok, now I have to keep it in. After some more Poison Fangs and Pheromones the Claw dies. At the end of the battle I had a nearly full health Val’kyr versus an Imp with a low health Direhorn on the back line. The Direhorn died on the swap, the Val’kyr finished it off. If I sound bored it’s because I am. Kovok is still pretty fun but I’m completely burned out on the Val’kyr. I was gonna do the write up on my Spirit Crab, Val’kyr and Kovok team tomorrow but I’ll have to come up with something else.

Note: After this battle I lost two out of four to an Idol, Chuck and Darkmoon Tonk. I know it’s not exactly breaking news that Sandstorm dampens DoTs but I thought it was worth mentioning if anyone’s looking for a counter to Kovok and Val’kyr teams.
