Today’s Team: Not The Beetles
S/S Death Adder Hatchling (Poison Fang, Puncture Wound, Blinding Poison)
P/P Son Of Animus (Metal Fist, Touch Of The Animus, Extra Plating)
S/S Gold Beetle (Flank, Survival, Swarm)

Strategy:
Animus has been on the shelf for too long! It’s time for another Touch team. All my teams based on Touch Of The Animus work like this: I apply DoTs then apply Touch or I apply touch then use some multiple attack moves. This team can utilize both of those ideas. The Adder can apply a DoT with Poison Fang and the Gold Beetle can use both Flank and Swarm for multiple hits. Every hit or tick will trigger some healing.

Out of all the Beetles available why did I choose an S/S Gold Beetle? I’ve mentioned a few times that in 5.4 my meta has really slowed down. I see fewer 325 speed pets around than I used too. This means that I can lower the speed of my “fast” pets from 325 and still have a good chance of being faster. For this reason I’ve been trying to find more 309 and 305 speed pets to use. The S/S Gold Beetle is one of these 309 pets. By having 309 instead of 325 speed there will be more stats in power and health.

Concerns:
If I do happen to run into a faster pet with the Beetle both Flank and Survival will be less effective.

The Opposing Team:
H/H Chrominius
P/S Zandalari Kneebiter
P/P Zandalari Kneebiter

The Battle:
112513AI started with my Adder, of course. I used Blinding Poison then Posion Fang against the P/S Kneebiter. On the second round the Kneebiter used Hunting Party. I used Puncture Wound and took the damage and debuff on the second turn of Hunting Party. The Adder really needed to swap thanks to the debuff. One attack would be enough to take out the raptor but I didn’t want to have to take two hits with my Animus (one one the swap, one because of being slower). I decided to swap to the Beetle who had to take a big 800+ strong Bloodfang from the raptor. Since it was faster than the Kneebiter the Beetle killed it with one Flank before taking any damage. A Survival, a Flank and a Swarm set the other Kneebiter up for an Animus killshot. Chrominius was all that was left so I let the Adder handle it easily. It turned out I didn’t get to use Touch but I did benefit from the 309 speed versus the 305 raptor.
