Today’s Team: Turcraber
P/S Highlands Turkey (Peck, Squawk, Food Coma)
H/H Spirit Crab (Snap, Whirlpool, Shell Shield)
S/S Death Adder (Poison Fang, Puncture Wound, Blinding Poison)
Just when I started using the Turkey Murkalot’s Hammer made me shy away from it. Less Murkalots equals more Turkeys.

Strategy:
This team is mostly about control with Blinding Poison and Food Coma. I’ll probably start with the Adder. It provides a lot of control due to the blind and the threat of the blind. The Turkey is also a good starter. Occasionally I’ll use Food Coma and my opponent won’t swap, which gives me a few rounds to swap then set up a shield or Whirlpool with the Crab. Options are good. After that its just a matter of making good choices with these good pets.

Concerns:
Although two of the pets are awesome there’s not an all encompassing strategy or synergy. Sometimes that just isn’t enough against a clever team with great synergy. There’s some anti-synergy with Poison Fang and Food Coma; the tick will break the sleep.

The Opposing Team:
B/B Gilnean Raven
H/H Lost Of Lordaeron
S/S Sprite Darter Hatchling
Not a lot going on here, the Raven is the biggest threat. Unless the ghost spams Arcane Explosion, that could be bad for my Turkey.

The Battle:
112213AI decide to start with my Adder which must face the Lost. Blinding Poison and Poison Fang mean that I’m off to a head start; I’m doing damage to the ghost and I remain untouched. I didn’t anticipate the swap, I use Puncture Wounds as the Darter swaps in so I miss the extra attack. The Darter casts Moonfire as it takes a Poison Fang. Blinding Poison is already ready again so the Darter misses the Slicing Winds. My opponent swaps to the Raven and takes another Poison Fang. I can hear the complaints of how annoying the damn Adder is coming through the screen. It’s time for the Adder to get out of there so I bring in the Turkey because it’s faster than the Raven. It has to take a (risky) Nocturnal Strike on the swap, but then interrupts the Raven with Food Coma. The Raven didn’t stay asleep because of the Poison tick, but the tick did a little bit of damage. My Turkey Squawks before the Raven casts Darkness which knocks the flying racial off of my pet. The Turkey had to take an Alpha Strike before a Peck knocked off the Raven’s racial. Peck, Alpha Strike miss, Peck. The Raven is gone. The Lost comes in to kill off the Turkey so I bring the Adder back. After a blind causes Curse Of Doom to miss my opponent runs away. I understand the frustration when dealing with Adders.

Heh, I’m lovin’ the Death Adder. I’ve been beaten by a few good opponents, but they kinda caught me sleeping. Against a Brew Pup/Murkalot, there wasn’t much I could do about an incoming RI’d Avalanche once my Adder was dead, so I figured Chi-Chi would be a better pal for him than the Blighthawk. I was also using an Ominous Flame in the beginning, with Scorched Earth and Foreboding Curse…which, tbh, synergized well with Blighthawk’s Cyclone and Adder’s Crouch.

I suppose I could go back to the Flame…but I decided to go ahead and rock my Jademist Dancer instead, and that did help quite a bit. I’m sure that with the Dancer, I could likely get a revenge victory against the Fiendish Imp/Fel Flame combo that jabbed me to death rather quickly and easily, heh. Either way, I’m having a ton of fun brainstorming things around the Adder, with which I use Viscious Fang/Crouch/Blinding Poison. :)

That’s a great idea. I’ve never used an Ominous Flame, I don’t even have one yet. I may go out and get one to try this out.

Love the Adder. I don’t know what helps me the most, your daily battle tips or reading Luthorien’s comments. Can’t wait to try my dancer with Adder.

The Adder is quickly climbing to the top of the list of pets I hate to face. If you can force a few bad swaps by your opponent and time your Blinding Poison right the Adder can take out multiple pets. A few times I’ve almost taken out entire teams with it. And glad to hear the blog is helpful :)
