Today’s Team: Marionette Barry
S/S Fiendish Imp (Burn, Immolation, Nether Gate)
H/P Macabre Marionette (Macabre Maraca, Death and Decay, Dead Man’s Party)
H/S Tiny Twister (Wild Winds, Bash, Call Lightning)
The Twister has become my new favorite Lightning pet.

Strategy:
It’s very simple, get Immolation going with the Imp then call Lightning. The Marionette is there to use Death and Decay and Dead Man’s Party for extra Lightning ticks. Dead Man’s Party also applies Shattered Defenses.

Concerns:
Lightning can hurt me as much as help me if the opposing teams has its own DoTs. Bone Barrage may be a better choice than Dead Man’s Party.

The Opposing Team:
P/S Fiendish Imp
H/P Thundering Pandaren Spirit
H/P Ruby Droplet
There’s some synergy here with Plagued Blood and Immolation.

The Battle:
110113BI start with my Fiendish Imp wile my opponent chose the Droplet. I Gate it out and in comes the Thundering Spirit. After a Burn and a Rock Barrage I swap to the Marionette who gets Prisoned on the swap. I didn’t go to the Twister because there’s too much on the opposing team that will be enhanced by Lightning: the Droplet’s DoT’s, the Rock Barrae and the Immolation. After the Prison ends, I put down Death and Decay then use Dead Man’s Party. For some reason my opponent swapped to the Droplet and used Bubble. Perhaps they thought that Bubble would block the Party but it got taken out in one turn due to Party hitting three times per turn. The first round Gate did some initial damage to the Droplet, the DoT’s did some enhanced damage due to Shattered Defenses. With Shattered Defenses still up all it took was one Macabre Maraca to kill the Droplet, but not before it was dropped to 0 hp.

110113ANow the opposing Imp comes in and my opponent made a huge mistake. Rather than Gate out the Marionette and make it lose the undead turn the Imp used Immolation. That allowed Dead Man’s Party to apply Shattered Defenses to the Imp. After the Marionette expired I brought in the Imp. The Gate would have really hurt with the damage debuff, but I missed. The opposing Gate didn’t miss so my Imp got swapped out for the Twister. It wasn’t all that bad, I was able to use Wild Winds which did 500+ damage with the debuff. At this point it seemed safe to use Lightning so I went for it. That allowed me to clean up the remaining hp from the remaining pets for the victory.
