Today’s Team: Unfortunate Yeti
H/B Stunted Yeti (Punch, Mangle, Bash)
H/H Scourged Whelpling (Tail Swipe, Death and Decay, Plagued Blood)
H/H Fel Flame (Flame Breath, Scorched Earth, Conflagrate)

Rationale:
My addiction to Bash is leading me down dark roads, roads where I’m using Stunted Yetis in the PvP queue. The Stunted Yeti has always seemed like a mediocre pet to me but I decided to give it a whirl since it has a 273 speed Bash. Not that fast, I agree, but it might be able to get the job done against some slower pets. Its other moves are not that great either. I chose Mangle over Haymaker since I’m not of fan of 50% accuracy moves. The other choice is Punch versus Thrash. Maybe I should go all in and go with Thrash, but again, 273 sped is not that fast, definitely not fast enough to take a multi-attack speed based move. So I’m stuck with Punch. In order to create some synergy with Mangle I went with the Scourged Whelpling for Death and Decay. The Fel Flame is here for Scorched Earth. Both of these moves provide long lasting field effects (nine rounds) so they work well with the ten round Mangle. So far the team is 3-3, but the wins have come against mediocre teams. Good teams have been crushing me. The poor yeti got its chance to shine on a the day when all the bad snakes come out, hence the name.

Concerns:
Punch only does 293 damage. It’s Tuesday. I’ve been seeing Warbots, Fiendish Imps and Death Adder Hatchlings.

The Opposing Team:
S/S Fiendish Imp
P/P Warbot
H/P Hovok

The Battle:
052714ASee what I was saying? Oh, and I think it was an H/P Kovok. Either that or an H/S, either way it was faster than my pets. I’m pretty bummed because I really wanted to just present the battle log due to it being late, but unfortunately it only goes back to round eight. Oh well. I know, I’ll tell you what happened the first seven rounds. I’ll start by saying this team beat me really bad earlier, I was annoyed to see it for the daily battle. It must be payback for me using the imp so much a few days ago. The battle started as my Scourged Whelpling versus the imp. The imp cast Immolation before Nether Gate which allowed me to get down Death and Decay. The Fel Flame was swapped in and took a decent amount of hp off the imp before Kovok came in. Kovok healed, but the Fel Flame was able to take the beast out in round seven before dying to poison. We brought in the undead dragon and the imp on round eight. Now I can be lazy and present the logs!

Round 9: Nether Gate
Round 10: Immolation/Punch
Round 11: swap to Warbot/Punch
Round 12: Bash
Round 13: Mangle
Round 14: Punch/Extra Plating
Round 15: Punch/Minefield
Round 16: Punch/Missile
Round 17: swap to Fiendish Imp/Punch
Round 18: Nether Gate (Boom!)
Round 19: Burn/Plagued Blood (Scourged Whelpling to 0, Fiendish Imp dies)
Round 20: Extra Plating/Plagued Blood (Failsafe activated)
Round 21: Bash
Round 22: Punch
Round 23: Punch (Warbot died)

What? I won. In the end the Warbot still had Mangle applied to it, which was the only way I could kill it through the Extra Plating. I’m very surprised by this victory, I don’t think my opponent would let it happen again. I’ll just enjoy the win and try to come up with a better Stunted Yeti team.

Perhaps with dazzling dance it can go with Thrash.

I really should delve deeper into Dazzling Dance teams. I don’t like it though because I feel I’m broadcasting my starting pet (the dancer) to the other team, which gives them an advantage from the beginning. I’m also afraid that in longer battles my dancer will die and leave the pets that rely on the speed boost helpless. I suppose these are the things which keep Dazzling Dance from being an OP move so one is expected to work around them.

Ugh! I know I beat you sometimes! Post one of those for once dang it! It’s funny that this team just decimates most of the time and then when it loses, it is to a sort of off beat team.
Your team put a lot of pressure on me and I played not very well. I didn’t want to eat a conflagrate on the warbot and I was too defensive in my play and you controlled this match against a team that is supposed to control matches. Well done.
BTW, I love this type of team Disco. I was trying to think of a way to use mangle w/scorched Earth but I didn’t want to use the KunLai Runt and I totally forgot that the Yeti has it. I love scorched earth with plagued blood and a damage debuff. I rarely face teams like this and run them quite often.

    Well done.

I did mention that you had beaten me earlier really bad. So bad that I fled, which I rarely do. Iirc, I was losing anyways, then had a brainfart thinking that I would swap pets so that you couldn’t force out my Scourged Whelpling and negate the undead racial by making it die on the back line. Sounds good, except the Scourged Whlpling didn’t come back in, the Fel Flame did :). I was losing pretty bad anyways, but that was the clincher.
