Today’s Team: Little Mouse On The Prairie
S/S Prairie Mouse (Flurry, Poison Fang, Survival)
P/P Sen’Jin Fetish (Flame Breath, Wild Magic, Sear Magic)
S/S Robo-Chick (Batter, Overtune, Wind-Up)

Rationale:
I haven’t had as much success with the Prairie Mouse as I thought I would (13-8-1). Maybe I just haven’t found the right team for it. I figured I’d put it with two of my currently best performing pets, the Sen’Jin Fetish and the Robo-Chick. So far it has worked, I’ve won a few battles in a row. The synergy here revolves around Wild Magic. Wild Magic will enhance the damage from the multi attacks and the DoTs. Even though I want to get Wild Magic going right away there’s some freedom with the rotation.

Concerns:
This is a very low hp team with 1400, 1400 and 1481 hp.

The Opposing Team:
H/S Pandaren Water Spirit
H/S Fox Kit
P/S Moon Moon

The Battle:
052014AThe Pandaren Water Spirit can really mess you up if you don’t have some way of avoiding the double nuke combo of Whirlpool and Geyser. If you do have a way of avoiding it, unfortunately most players will try to pull it off anyways and lose in the process. I had the Sen’Jin Fetish to cleanse away both of the water nukes and a Shattered Defenses from the Fox Kit in one fell swoop. After that I brought in my Robo-Chick for some strong damage on the Fox Kit. My opponent went back to the elemental which still had Wild Magic up. The three Batters that hit on the swap were weak, but the Wild Magic meant some decent damage. The faster Robo-Chick finished off the Pandaren Earth Spirit on the next round and the rout was on. Strong damage against the two beasts made finishing the battle easy. The trick to a good win rate? Just stand in the back and let the other two pets do all of the work. Lazy mouse.

I like that team a lot. Of course, I am a total sucker for any Senjin Fetish wild magic based team, but this one has a lot going for it.
I don’t agree with your concern here of low HP. Speed + survival, undead and mech racials = a fairly robust team. Nicely done.
On another note, was that you with the S/S prairie mouse, Fiendish Imp, Warbot team? Did you enjoy my 3 crow team that I just brought out to counter a Blossoming Ancient/ Crab team? Did you like my awesome tactic of getting your Fiendish imp to miss his nether gate?

I fought against a triple crow team last night lol almost won…almost :)

I’m not sure if I put the mouse with the Warbot and Fiendish Imp, although it does sound like something I would do. I did encounter a Blossoming Ancient last night but I don’t recall its teammates. I’m pretty sure that I went straight to a Jademist Dancer team right afterwards.

Not on topic. Wanted to say thanks for this blog. Made 1k wins this week, going to pack it in (pet battling, not WoW).

As an aside, did it with no Val’kyr. Have a SS DAH, only used it a couple of times. No Rags or any money/CE pet. No idol or any dungeon pet (ok, have an ashtone core I used a couple of times). Very little clone-dance. Never used any troll* pets (Crawdad, Mech Dragon, Rabbit, …). Just solid mostly wild pets with a focus on countering and trying to play as well as possible.

Thanks again for all your insight. Happy battling everyone.

    * recognize everyone has different definitions of troll pets :)

      Grates on getting your title!

Thanks for your comments and hopefully there will be something new in WoD to get you battling again :)
