Today’s Team: Snap Drizzle Rip
B/B Lifeike Toad (Tongue Lash, Cleansing Rain, Frog Kiss)
H/H Spirit Crab (Snap, Whirlpool, Shell Shield)
H/P Snarly (Rip, Surge, Blood In The Water)

Rationale:
There was some talk on the forum today about the Lifelike Toad so I thought I’d give it a try. First of all let me say I’m not a fan a Frog Kiss, or any 25% CC move for that matter. It’s also a broken move in the sense that you can chain polymorph someone since Resilience doesn’t kick in until after the polymorph wears off. I hope this doesn’t happen, but I do really like having an anti-undead and anti-elemental move on the same pet, plus Repair on a slow pet is just useless. I threw the Spirit Crab and Snarly on the team to have some synergy with the weather.

Concerns:
This team is seriously lacking some speed.

The Opposing Team:
P/B Spawn Of G’Nathus
P/B Mr. Wiggles
B/B Gilnean Raven

The Battle:
051214AI was afraid of starting with my mech or aquatic due to the the strong damage on the other team so I played it safe and started with the Spirit Crab. The Spawn Of G’Nathus was the first enemy pet so I was glad I didn’t start with my mech. The Spirit Crab easily won the head to head match-up. The Gilnean Raven came in to finish the crab then swapped to Mr. Wiggles for the crab’s undead round. I’m not sure why they did this but a strong Snap made the piggy pay for it. I brought Snarly in next. Even with Crouch up Snarly easily killed Mr. Wiggles. Last was the Gilnean Raven. There was no point in swapping out and losing a turn, I just had to take my licks until Snarly died. Snarly missed a Rip and hit one Surge before dying. I finally got to bring my Lifelike Toad out. It was able to take out the bird thanks to a polymorph landing. My mech was slower so I didn’t want to use Tongue Lash; I had to use Frog Kiss while the bird was polymorphed, hoping that it didn’t proc again. It didn’t, the win can be considered legit.

I had a somewhat successful bleed team with Anodized Robo Cub, Pierre and Lifelike Mechanical Toad. It’s not really a hard hitting team and a bit too reliant on Stench and Frog Kiss to be really dangerous. Still was a fun team to run a while and even got to use Rebuild from the Robo Cub. Not sure I will ever revisit it, perhaps just keep my fond memories. One nice part was when I was forced to use the Toad against Raggy and won that match up, but I’m pretty sure it was due to chain cc, still Frog Kiss damage vs elementals really stack up quickly.

I too really dislike the 25% CC moves; I was slept 3x in a row last night. Seems simple enough, the moment you get a CC add the resilience buff, make it last an extra turn, now no possibility of chaining CCs.

Maybe there’s a technical reason for not doing so?
