Today’s Team: Counting Claw
S/S Black Rat (Scratch, Poison Fang, Survival)
P/S Jadefire Spirit (Jade Claw, Immolate, Fade)
H/H Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, Plagued Blood)

Strategy:
I recommended this team to someone today as a counter team to an common enemy. I tried it out myself quite a bit and it did well. Not great, but well enough. The plan is to use the two DoTs (Immolate and Poison Fang) to get some heals from Plagued Blood. I’ll start with one of the two DoT pets then swap accordingly.

Concerns:
Even with Survival the Black Rat is fragile. It really needs the heals from Plagued Blood which aren’t a sure thing.

The Opposing Team:
H/S Dark Phoenix Hatchling
H/H Lost Of Lordaeron
H/P Lil’ Smokey

The Battle:
030214AI started with the Jademist Dancer against the Lost Of Lordaeron. I used Immolate but immediately got rooted with Bone Prison so I couldn’t swap. After a few Jade Claws and Shadow Slashes I Faded out to the Black Rat. My Rat applied the DoT then Lil’ Smokey came in. I swapped to the Scourged Whelpling as the Minefield went down. Then the Scourged Whelpling did what it excels at: staying alive with Plagued Blood heals from Death and Decay and Tail Swap. It killed Lil’ Smokey then almost outlasted the Minefield but expired one turn too early. I thought I was going to be okay with the Jadefire Spirit eating the weak Minefield but a crit killed my elemental. The Black Rat had some extra health when it came in thanks to the Plagued Blood healing. I had to pass on the turn that Dark Rebirth was used so that my Black Rat didn’t finish off the elemental. On the next turn a Scratch took out the Dark Phoenix Hatchling. The showdown came down to the critter versus the undead. Survival was used as a precaution but it wasn’t necessary for the win.
