Today’s Team: Krushgroove
S/S Qiraji Guardling (Crush, Sandstorm, Blackout Kick)
H/P Living Sandling (Sandbolt, Sandstorm, Quicksand)
H/S Ashstone Core (Feedback, Stoneskin, Crystal Prison)

Strategy:
This team makes use of the Weather Sandstorm. I’ve included two elementals because they will ignore the negative effects of the weather but benefit from the positive effects. This means they will receive the damage reduction from Sandstorm but not the accuracy reduction. The strategy is very basic: cast Sandstorm and use the elementals effectively. The Qiraji Guardling is usually my starter using Blackout Kick then Crush or Sandstorm. It’s nice to find a good fit for the rarely used Ashstone Core. I chose this pet as the third member because it has Stoneskin, which will allow for double shielding in Sandstorm. It also has a 95% move and a CC.

Concerns:
The Qiraji Guardling’s Crush will be hitting at 70% in a Sandstorm so I need to plan on some misses. At 289 speed the Ashstone Core isn’t that fast. Crystal Prison will be wasted on slower pets.

The Opposing Team:
P/P Emerald Proto-Whelp
P/S Scourged Whelpling
P/S Nexus Whelpling

The Battle:
031814AWith two dragons against me I felt like I was in good shape. I started with my Qiraji Guardling against the EPW. Blackout Kick and three Crushes took out the powerful dragon without my humanoid taking any damage. That was pretty much good game. Well, recently I lost a 2v3 due to getting complacent so I decided I better stay on my toes. The Scourged Whelpling came in. I stayed in for two more Crushes so I could use Blackout Kick then Sandstorm. I swapped to the Ashstone Core, put up Stoneskin then took out the Scourged Whelpling with Feedback. I denied its undead round with a Crystal Prison. The Nexus Whelpling replaced the undead dragon. I brought in the Living Sandling as it turned the weather to Arcane Winds. My Living Sandling took one double Mana Surge, but then slowed the dragon and changed the weather to Sandstorm before another Arcane Winds enhanced Mana Surge could do damage. The dragon killed the Living Sandling but the Ashstone Core came in and easily cleaned up.

“I denied its undead round with a Crystal Prison.”

Wow, I’ve really gotta try that one against an Unborn Valkyr..or a broom or imp to sweep it away.

Last night I was so frustrated with FOTM pets that I ran an Emperor Crab P/P, a Fel Flame P/P and a Death Adder Hatchling S/S just to counter them. I swapped in a Warbot for the Fel Flame whenever I got a guy who was a swapper.

I’ve been trying to do the “No time to heal” achieve too but never quite figured it out, every time I see an enemy with Crawdad, Ruby Droplet and Blossoming Ancient I leave (to help em out) but on the 6th in a row I figure I have to get serious to beat them lol. Do you have any tips for getting the achieve and for countering the ultimate stall team?
