Today’s Team: Morning Madness
H/P Blighted Squirrel (Woodchipper, Crouch, Stampede)
S/S Robo-Chick (Batter, Overtune, Wind-Up)
P/P Spineclaw Crab (Rip, Healing Wave, Blood In The Water)

Rationale:
I finally got a P/P Spineclaw Crab. A few days ago I mentioned about how I was afraid of this powerful aquatic. I was really talking it up, saying how I don’t want people to find out about how good it is. I still feel that way, but unfortunately I found out a sad fact since then: I suck at using the Spineclaw Crab. A pet that should at least be near my average win rate (if not higher) is coming in at 7-6-1, a 50% win rate. I’ve had to face a few double flyers with double aquatics, but still, it should be doing better. I’ve decided that I don’t like this crab on a bleed team. Why? Even though the Spineclaw Crab hits harder than Snarly and has a heal it lacks a priority move. How many close battles are won by Snarly using Surge to take out the last pets? A lot. So if I want to use the Spineclaw Crab on a bleed team I need to replace Snarly or go with double aquatics, neither of which is too appealing. Overall I’m sort of disappointed with my new purchase but I’m still trying it out. This team was designed around some bleed synergy with the Spineclaw Crab and Blighted Squirrel. I’ve been experimenting with non-bleed pets for a third member of this team, up now is the Robo-Chick.

Concerns:
My track record with the crab makes me worried about pairing it up with two good, but not top-tier pets. Flying pets could give me problems.

The Opposing Team:
S/S Enchanted Broom
S/B Panther Cub
H/H Anubisath Idol

The Battle:
060514AI saw the broom, felt indifferent. I saw the beast, felt happy. I saw the idol, my heart dropped. I’m going into lazy mode for this one.

Round 1: Sweep
Round 2: charge Wind-Up/Batter
Round 3: swap to idol/Overtune
Round 4: Deflection/Batter
Round 5: Wind-Up (miss)/Sandstorm (ever seen a grown man cry?)
Round 6: charge Wind-Up/Crush (miss)
Round 7: Wind-Up/Crush
Round 8: charge Wind-Up/Crush
Round 9: Deflection/Batter
Round 10: Wind-Up/Crush (chick to 0 hp)
Round 11: Batter/Sandstorm (chick died)
Round 12: Rip/Crush
Round 13: Healing Wave/Crush
Round 14: Crush (miss)/Rip
Round 15: Rip (idol died)
Round 16: Rake/Rip
Round 17: Pounce/Healing Wave
Round 18: Pounce/Blood In The Water
Round 19: Rake/ Rip (panther died)
Round 20: Sweep (miss)/Rip (who’s crying now?)
Round 21: Batter (crab died)
Round 22: Batter/Crouch
Round 23: Clean-Up/Stampede
Round 24: Batter/Stampede (broom runs away)

I’m not sure if I should count this as a lucky win or not, I think the Blighted Squirrel could have survived another round of damage, but I’m not sure if the broom would have died before the undead round if not for the crab landing the Rip in round 20. Winning the 244 speed coin toss in round 15 surely helped. Either way, I’ll take the win against the dirty idol.

I agree that the Spineclaw crab has been a disappointment or that i haven’t found the right team or figured it out yet. I was very excited to use it when I got mine a while back and shelved it when it didn’t yield the results I hoped for.
