Today’s Team: Carrion Cravings
H/H Fledgling Buzzard (Thrash, Adrenaline Rush, Lift-Off)
S/S Fiendish Imp (Burn, Immolation, Nether Gate)
P/P Sen’Jin Fetish (Flame Breath, Wild Magic, Sear Magic)

Rationale:
Without much time to play or put something interesting together (or do part three of the previous daily) I’m just going with one of the many imp/mask teams I have floating around right now. The plan is to get Immolation going then back line the imp, then bring out the mask for some Flame Breath and Wild Magic. The Fledgling Buzzard is there for some anti-snake power.

Comments:
As always I’m afraid that a Nether Gate miss will be catastrophic. This team feels fragile, even with the 1806 hp bird.

The Opposing Team:
B/B Garden Moth
H/P Menagerie Custodian
H/S Pandaren Water Spirit

The Battle:
070914AThe B/B says it all. I was probably facing a new player here. Not only is the B/B a sign but also the activity of the Pandaren Water Spirit. I have a pet that can cleanse and yet they still felt that casting Geyser then Whirlpool was a good idea. One Sear Magic took care of that big problem. Wait for it… Wait for it… No, they didn’t run away like I thought they would. My hat goes off to them for not running at the first sign of trouble, even though that was a pretty big sign. The moth came in to try and save the day by putting my pets to sleep but the proc never happened. After the moth and the Pandaren Water Spirit died then the custodian ran. Someone recently made a comment about my opponents being bad. I don’t think that they they’re bad, just inexperienced. I think that there are a lot of new players always coming into the queue, players like this one who now knows not to lay down end of turn nukes against a cleansing pet.

That’s definitely inexperience. There’s a timer so you can’t even look up the pet till later and often you’re left scratching your head. You parse the log and figure it out or you muddle on.

I remember missing a nocturnal strike against an elemental for the first time I was like WTF!?! Then I realized damn elementals don’t care about the weather oooh! and started using it in my own battles.

Once someone get’s their direhorn or the trainer title I’m sure they’ve seen it all but until then lots of nuances.

Yeah there’s a lot of little details to keep track of. I just lost a battle tonight by trying to use Bash on a valk that came off the back line with the Resilience buff. I groaned so loud my was concerned 😛
