Today’s Team: Treasure Gangsters
P/P Netherspace Abyssal (Crush, Immolation, Nether Gate)
H/H Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, Plagued Blood)
H/S Treasure Goblin (Magic Sword, Wild Magic, Portal)

Rationale:
Once again I’m trying to make the Treasure Goblin work. I really wanted to pair it with a Fiendish Imp but running two humanoids in my valk infested universe seemed suicidal. So I took another pet with Nether Gate and Immolation: the Netherspace Abyssal. It’s not even close to being as good as the imp but at least it does have a 500ish damage normal attack. Since there will be no humanoid racial healing from Immolation I added in the Scourged Whelpling for Plagued Blood. The plan is to start with the abyssal to get Immolation going, then bring out the goblin for Wild Magic, then Portal to the Scourged Whelpling. Hey, it could work. So far this team has lost more than it has won. So why am I using it for the daily? I was just about to scrap it when it pulled off a miracle win against an adder, imp and rabbit. Portal was able to make the adder waste its second round of blind in case you’re wonder how that happened. Surely a fluke win, but it was inspiring enough to not give up.

Concerns:
The Netherspace Abyssal has low hp and is slow, plus has the dead weight of the magic racial. The Treasure Goblin’s only attack is 75% accuracy and Crush is 80% accuracy. Usually I have one pet that I can count on to be a hero but none of my pets are cream of the crop. Who will step up?

The Opposing Team:
P/B Onyxian Whelpling
P/P Kun-Lai Runt
P/P Yellow-Bellied Frog
I can do this.

The Battle:
072414AThings started off fabulously. It was the dragon against my magic pet. That sounds bad but I have a swap, which I used on round one. My opponent really wanted to take advantage of those green arrows (strong attacks) because the dragon was brought right back in as I cast Immolation. This wasn’t the best course of action since I have a green arrow myself. Did I mention that mine hits for about 730 damage? The dragon only got off a Scorched Earth before dying. The magic racial that I was bad-mouthing made a strong crit only hit for 490 so I guess it’s not completely useless. The frog was next and I expected some Frog Kiss spam which is exactly what I got. Before the frog began its ramping I brought in the Treasure Goblin. Poof, polymorphed on the swap. I decided to stay in and hope it doesn’t proc again so I could get Resilience but my goblin wasn’t so lucky. It had to spend another round as a frog. Thankfully there was no third proc so I was safe for a few rounds. After a few rounds I decided to Portal out to the Scourged Whelpling. It only needed one Tail Sweep to take out the frog but it missed. That was costly because it allowed another Tongue Lash. For the second round in a row all three Tongue Lashes hit, leaving my beefy undead dragon with a lot less beef. After the frog perished I still had three pets alive with low health to face the KLR. It took a lot of dancing around the auto stun but I was able to win a close one. The battle came down to the very last attack. Crush only gave me an 80% chance of winning so the last attack was scary. It connected for the win.

I’m trying something new out, for me anyway. Banging away then doing Unholy Ascension(+25% dmg). Switch to P/P Baby Ape, do Roar(+25% dmg), then pound away and when Beast racial kicks in… +25% dmg. Non-crit Smash hits for over 800. Good times.

Perhaps you should try a barrage pet to switch to get more out of wild magic?

I find that the magic racial can really pull through versus certain teams. Its generally not all that helpful, but it allows them to go toe to toe versus dragons without getting completely and utterly demolished.

    It’s pretty situational, alas. :(

I always have a pretty hard time against Runts, I get chilled, know the bit hit is coming switch pets and WHABLAMMO still get critted and stunned lol. Whats your fav anti-humanoid counter?

Get Mr. Wiggles. Most runts does not use Thrash or Rampage. With crouch you will take almost no damage from the elemental attacks and you wont get stunned. While you will do stong damage, 500+ hits, in return.
