Today’s Team: Moskau
P/S Fossilized Hatchling (Bone Bite, Ancient Blessing, BONESTORM)
P/S Yu’la (Jadefire Lightning, Celestial Blessing, Life Exchange)
H/H Spirit Crab (Snap, Surge, Shell Shield)

Rationale:
The idea was is to use Celestial Blessing on the Fossilized Hatchling to get off an extra BONESTORM. I’ve been starting with Yu’la to get a little bit of AoE damage with Jadefire Lightning while setting up the blessing. Life Exchange can usually be used on the fourth round to gain some hp back when Yu’la is almost gone. After the fossil softens up the back line enough the Spirit Crab usually has enough hp to take out whatever is left over.

Concerns:
With Jadefire Lightning Yu’la is often useless at the end of a battle. I could probably make the team better with Breath in the first slot but that changes the feel of the team. I would consider this more of an “interesting” team rather than a competitive one.

The Opposing Team:
S/S Death Adder
P/S Voodoo Figurine
P/P Sunreaver Micro-Sentry

The Battle:
071814AI forgot to mention my team’s track record against Death Adder Hatchlings. It’s atrocious. I’ve been getting owned hard by adders. Probably because I always want to start with Yu’la and people always want to start with their snakes. This time I just knew it was going to be different… but it wasn’t. Snake versus dragon to start and I already felt like I was behind. There’s no way I was going to keep Yu’la in to get wasted but I did cast Celestial Blessing before swapping to my Spirit Crab. So here’s where it got interesting for my opponent. They were running a lightning team which include the fragile snake. I obviously have some AoE so they could have done one of two things and still been fine. The first would be to go all out with the snake, keeping it in and doing a lot of damage until it died. The second would be to pull it out now while it still had all of its hp and bring it back in later for a better match-up. They did neither. They kept the snake in until it had about 400 hp then back lined it. That’s a bad move against an AoE team, even worse when you know you’re going to cast Call Lightning.

The Sunreaver Micro-Sentry came in so I swapped to Yu’La. She barely survived a Call Lightning then used Life Exchange for a 1k hp turn around (+/- 497). This allowed two more turns for a Jadefire Lightning and a Celestial Blessing. The Fossilized Hatchling came into the blessing then used BONESTORM. The two AoE moves along with lightning was enough to finish off the snake. The mech used Extra Plating but the Fossilized Hatchling was still able to take it out with enough health left (thanks to an Ancient Blessing) to take the Voodoo Figurine to 0 hp. The Spirit Crab came in for the Voodoo Figurine’s undead round with plenty of health left. Finally a win against an adder team.

Have you tried with Creepy Crate instead of the Fossilized Hatchling. You don’t need to “waste” a turn healing when you can do damage instead. While the hatchling is much stronger I just get the feeling that the Crate is sturdier, and say you use Ancient Blessing to heal 455 and getting hit for at least 300 in return. That feels like a turn better used to do more damage(wich would negate the lower power of the Crate).

Not that I am condoning any Bonestorm activity in my meta. 😉

I disagree. Creepy Crate lacks the sustainability of the raptor, especially if you’re playing on a rotational basis for cooldowns. That 455 heal is significant, especially when you consider bonestorm hurts the user for 10% of their max health.

However, the crate offers more than just the bonestorm, because it can have death grip. Which naturally, can force out favorable matchups.

I tried the Creepy Crate and like you mentioned Death Grip surely had some merit. I din’t play too many battles but I did notice the team felt quite a bit different with a swap move replacing a heal. I’m keeping both teams for now :)

Quite powerful, i’ve beaten a Val’kyr + double DAH with this combo.
