Today’s Team: Croak And Poke

B/B Lifelike Toad (Tongue Lash, Cleansing Rain, Frog Kiss)
Rationale:
I’ve been having so much success with my Lifelike Toad that I decided to throw another “frog” move set into the mix with the Swamp Croaker. I added the Spirit Crab because I needed a top pet for some security (even though I agree that my lovely Spirit Crab is no longer at the very top). What I ended up with is a weak Cleansing Rain team that should do well against clonedance teams and undead.
Concerns:
With such a limited range of family attacks (aquatic, critter, beast) it’s not the most dynamic of teams. It’s also very slow with the two frogs at 273 and 276 speed.

H/P Stitched Pup
H/P Stitched Pup
One of my two most feared comps at the moment, although I usually see a Blighthawk rather than a second pup.
The Battle:
This is exactly why I’m running a team like this. I’m seeing a huge volume of Consume Corpse teams. It actually turned out to be a dull affair since I was so well equipped to take this team out. I think I’ll just give you the logs:

Round 10: Tongue Lash (Stitched Pup to 0 hp) / Diseased Bite (miss)
Round 11: Cleansing Rain / Diseased Bite
Round 12: Tongue Lash / CoD
Round 13: Tongue Lash (valk to 0 hp) / Shadow Shock (miss)
Round 14: Frog Kiss / Shadow Shock
Round 15: Tongue Lash (Stitched Pup to 0) / Consume Corpse (miss, run)
Even though it was dull and I expected to win, I still rather enjoyed taking out one of my currently most hated teams.
Edit: Requeued and got the same team. This time they played much better, but I still had 700 hp on my Lifelike Toad after a 19 round win.

This is what you call “retributive justice” lol. I love it when I play a crazy team, repick one or more pets and requeue only to smash them lol.
I have to thank you for this team, mate. The meta has been a bit stale lately, and to make matters worse I keep getting the same person/people 5-10 times in a row. So not only am I seeing Valks, DAHs, Fiendish Imps, Idols, Crabs, Direhorns, KLRs, and Crawdads by the score, but over and over and over again with the same players.
I tried this lovely froggy team today, and went 10-0. Both the Mech and the Undead have their lovely extra turns, the Bubble is very handy, the weather effect is useful for every pet, they aren’t all aquatics, and all the attacks are deadly to the usual suspects in the current meta. My Swamp Croaker is B/B and my Spirit Crab is H/S, but made very little difference. Some wins were squeakers, but I’ll take ’em anyway, since I’m still some distance away from 5000 PvP wins.

Good to know it’s doing well for you, too. I though I was just getting lucky with the stuns, but 10-0 is hard to argue with.
