Today’s Team: Gnaw Really
P/S Yu’la (Jadefire Lightning, Celestial Blessing, Life Exchange)
H/P Blackfuse Bombling (Zap, Flame Jet, Armageddon)
S/S Mongoose Pup (Gnaw, Survival, Dive)

Strategy:
I think Snarly is the perfect third member for the Yu’la and BFB combo but I’m still playing around with different sweeper ideas. The Mongoose Pup is a great pet to clean up at the end of a battle with its 357 speed, its ability to gain an extra turn through Survival and its avoidance move. The plan is to AoE, set up Blessing then steal some health with Life Exchange. The BFB will get the Blessing and do damage until Armageddon. The Mongoose Pup will finish any pets off.

Concerns:
The Mongoose is fragile with 1237 hp. If Yu’la doesn’t have a chance at a good Life Exchange then she won’t do much damage.

The Opposing Team:
P/P Lil’ Ragnaros
H/H Twilight Fiendling
S/B Clockwork Gnome

The Battle:
010514ALil’ Ragnaros started off by owning Yu’la. Yu’la cast Jadefire Lightning while Rag laid down a Flamethrower. I wasn’t sure if Yu’la could take a Conflagrate. I decided to risk it so I cast Blessing and saw Conflagrate take Yu’la down to 29 hp then watched the DoT take her out. I’m in bad shape now. There’s no way I’m going to bring in the BFB to face Ragnaros so the Mongoose Pup came in to face Rag. My opponent swapped to the Clockwork Gnome who took a Gnaw on the swap. After building Turrets the Gnome cast Repair. This was a bad move that allowed me to come back from my horrible start. Since my Mongoose Pup was faster it was able to finish off the Gnome on the final turn of repair before it received the heal. The Fiendling came in so I swapped to the BFB. My opponent swapped to Rag who got hit by the Flame Jet. I swapped right back to the Mongoose. We went through a series of swaps with both Flame Jet and Flamethrower doing damage. It finally go to a point where I was able to Armageddon both the Fiendling and Rag to near death. It took a Gnaw for each of them to finish it off. The Gnome trying to repair was what won the battle for me. If my opponent would have just stuck to doing damage with the Gnome I think I would have surely lost.

Nice win, Doggy. :) I’ve seen quite a bit of Repairing Gnomes in my battlegroup’s meta…and I’ll be honest…I really do not understand why. There aren’t that many pets teeming with Magic attacks that are attractive, save Dragons…at least, on my meta anyway. Repair does nothing but root you and give the opponent two free shots. Most of the time, the Mech will finish the heal in Failsafe; when it is lucky enough to survive pre-Failsafe, it’s probably not gonna do that much damage unless there’s a squishy Beast active. I see almost no point in using Repair in a PvP battle. It’s almost certainly going to let your opponent get the upper hand. Just my take.

I feel the same way about Repair. I have issues with Hibernate, too. Even though I take it on my Infested Bear Cub I rarely use it. The only time I end up using it is versus Rag when he goes under.
