Today’s Team: Totally Not Botting
B/B Willy (Tongue Lash, Eyeblast, Rot)
P/B Infected Fawn (Flurry, Adrenaline Rush, Death and Decay)
P/P Son Of Animus (Metal Fist, Touch Of The Animus, Extra Plating)
I was accused of botting today. Somebody whispered me and said it was unlikely that a real player would stand in the same spot for over 24 hours so I must be a bot. 24 hours? I’ve been standing here for months!

Strategy:
I was having fun making new Son Of Animus teams but I also wanted to start using Willy based on the recommendations of Luthorien and rhonstifor. Why not go for it all? The Infected Fawn has some synergy with Animus due to its DoT and it has some synergy with Willy due to Flurry. In a perfect world the battle would go like this: the Infected Fawn starts with Death and Decay then takes a few turns of damage. Animus comes in to apply Touch so the Fawn gets healed. Animus would stay in long enough to get off another Touch before dying. Willy would come in to Rot then Tongue Lash. Willy stays alive long enough to get off another Rot before dying. The Fawn comes back to finish it off with strong Flurries. Yeah, like things ever work out as planned in PvP. That’s why it’s so fun!

Concerns:
Sometimes trying to do too much doesn’t work out. Simple plans usually work out well, complicated ones are often more difficult. I also don’t like not having a counter to elementals.

The Opposing Team:
S/S Death Adder Hatchling
P/P Ragnaros
H/H Unborn Val’kyr
Tonight there have been way more competitive teams than last night.

The Battle:
012214ANot a pleasant team to face. I’m a Willy noob, cut me some slack already! I thought that the Val’kyr would start so I started with the Fawn. Instead the Adder came out first. Last thing I want to do is swap and give the Adder an extra turn so I decided to see how the Fawn would do. With Adrenaline Rush the Fawn might do ok. After blinding, poisoning then casting Puncture Wound and taking a Flurry the Adder swapped to the Val’kyr. Not too bad, the Fawn was able to Flurry both on the swap and before the Haunt came for some serious damage. The Adder came in on the free swap and blinded again. The Fawn was able to get a Death and Decay down on its undead round but that was all.

012214BI brought in Animus to face the snake. Animus got off a Metal Fist after taking a Poison Fang. The next round saw Blinding Poison and Extra Plating. The shield helped reduce the Puncture Wound. The Adder cast Poison Fang again then Animus took out the snake. Next up was Ragnaros. Rather than lose a turn by swapping I decided to let Animus do what it could before dying. The Animus got off a weak Metal Fist before the Failsafe and a Touch before expiring. I expected Rag to go under at any moment but so far Rag had only used Flamethrower. This has turned out to be a lot closer and more interesting than I thought. Willy used Tongue Lash but got no heals from Touch since it was already at full health. Then the Conflagrate came, ouch, but less ouch due to the activated magic racial. Next round Willy gained around 340 health back by hitting two Lashes to take out Rag. Really? I might win this. Now the Val’kyr is looking at an over half health Willy with strong attacks. Two Lashes (one a crit) brought the Val’kyr to 0 then Willy survived the undead round for the win! A surprising victory for Totally Not Botting.

  1. Luthorien says:

Really glad to see that team win. :) I run a Valk/Willy/Bonkers team sometimes and that’s done fairly well against most things.

  2. rhonstifor says:

You can be proud of that win. I consider Rags, Death Adder, Valk to be one of the toughest teams going.
