Today’s Team: Orly
P/S Yu’la (Jadefire Lightning, Celestial Blessing, Life Exchange)
H/P Blackfuse Bombling (Zap, Flame Jet, Armageddon)
H/P Snarly (Rip, Surge, Blood In The Water)

Strategy:
This is sort of an AoE team. The plan is to do a little bit of AoE damage with Jadefire Lightning while putting up Blessing for the BFB. It’s a clunky rotation with these moves from Yu’la. It usually works best to AoE, Blessing, AoE, Life Exchange, AoE then swap. Then the BFB will do single target damage before casting Armageddon near death. Yu’la will come back in to do a little more AoE and get the Celestial Blessing read for Snarly. Why Snarly? I often “typecast” pets into roles that they excel at. Which is exactly what I’ve done with Snarly and bleed teams. Snarly doesn’t need to be on a bleed team team to do well, the croc is actually a decent sweeper due to the priority move Surge and the ability to do high damage in a one on one scenario. Hopefully after my other two pets are gone Snarly will be able to sweep up any remaining enemy pets.

Concerns:
Life Exchange is very situational. If I can’t cast that at a good time then Yu’la won’t be doing much damage. Zap is a conservative choice since it’s a 100% move, perhaps Burn would be better.

The Opposing Team:
P/P Murkalot
P/P Rotten Little Helper
P/S Spectral Tiger Cub

The Battle:
010214CI saw all those green arrows from the humanoid attacks and got really scared. My poor dragon might be in some serious pain soon. I decided to stick to the plan and start with Yu’la anyways. Murkalot was my opponent’s starter. I cast Jadefire Lightning and Murkalot went right for the kill (I assume) with Falling Murloc. There’s the pain coming in at 998 damage. I cast Celestial Blessing while Murloc was stunned, knowing that no matter what pet comes in next I’ll get some big heals. Murloc stayed in, Life Exchange took 560 health from Murkalot and gave me 561. Nice. After another Jadefire Lighting and Blessed Hammer I took Yu’la out for the BFB. Yu’la was destined to be Minefield fodder. The BFB got the Blessing as Murkalot tickled it with a weak Blessed Hammer. Murkalot tickled again and took a Flame Jet for his efforts then RI’d to the Rotten Helper.

010214AI was already doing well enough, the battle was going as planned and I had Yu’la to eat the Helper’s Minefield. The RI would be negated by the Celestial Blessing. Then something happened that you hate to see: the RI’d Greench’s Gift missed. Now it went from me winning to faceroll time. I spammed Zap until the Helper was gone. My opponent brought in the Spectral Tiger Cub and cast Dodge. This was a perfect time to eat the Minefield since I couldn’t attack the Cub anyways. I brought in the sacrificial Yu’la to eat the Minefield and waste the second turn of Dodge. I brought back in the BFB to Flame Jet and Zap then timed the Armageddon well enough to kill the Cub and almost finish Murkalot. One Surge from Snarly the sweeper was all it took to finish the murloc off. I think I would have had it even without the big miss, but who knows?

I tried this team out for a bit, and it worked out fairly well. I think I’ll be adding this one to my teams list. :)

It’s been winning for me more than I thought it would. Life Exchange can be a game changer. I was a bit worried about buying an H/P BFB instead of the P/P that everyone raves about but so far it’s working out well. /phew

Meh, H/P has never failed me, either. I generally do my own analysis on pets before I get them. The more wiggle room with H/P is more attractive to me than P/P.
