Today’s Team: Doggin’ The Wax
P/P Droplet Of Y’Shaarj (Corrosion, Acid Rain, Dreadful Breath)
H/H Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Darkness, Dreadful Breath)
P/S Alterac Brew Pup (Bark, Tough N’ Cuddly, Avalanche)

Strategy:
I kept running into a triple moth team so I decided to try an AoE strategy against it. Initially I was using the Droplet Of Y’Shaarj and two Scourged Whelplings. It worked well against the moths and did okay against other teams, but man was it boring. If you ever want to use a totally mindless team I suggest that one. Acid Rain then spam Dreadful Breath for the rest of the battle. It’ll actually win sometimes. Today’s team has a little bit more variety, but not much. The plan is to start with the Droplet Of Y’Shaarj to use Acid Rain then Dreadful Breath. It usually dies after the third round of Dreadful Breath, sometimes after the second. Then the Scourged Whelpling will come in to spam Dreadful Breath. After the first cycle (three rounds) there’s an opening available to use Darkness or Tail Sweep if you need the burst. Most battles so far I haven’t needed this, I’ve just stuck to Dreadful Breath. I also don’t want to change the weather since Cleansing Rain boosts Dreadful Breath’s damage. Finally the ABP will come in to Avalanche then try to stay alive long enough with the shield (Tough N’ Cuddly) and attack debuff (Bark) to get off another Avalanche.

Concerns:
Dreadful Breath is a risky PvP move since you are locked into it for three rounds. It gives your opponent a lot of freedom to implement whatever plan they want while you are locked in.

The Opposing Team:
H/P Bonkers
H/P Lil’ XT
P/P Lil’ Deathwing

The Battle:
020914AWe started off with Bonkers versus the Droplet Of Y’Shaarj. I stuck to plan with Acid Rain and Dreadful Breath while Bonkers used Going Bonkers, Tornado Punch then Jab. I won the coin toss on round four (both pets were 260 speed) so my purple elemental was able to get off the third Dreadful Breath before dying. So far, so good. In came my Scourged Whelpling. There was no need to deviate from my strategy so my Scourged Whelpling cast Dreadful Breath. After a few rounds Lil’ Deathwing died on the back line. After the first three rounds of the AoE expired the Scourged Welpling cast it again. It was only against two pets this time but I was hoping to force Lil’ XT to use its Failsafe on the back line so the ABP could finish it off. It didn’t work. By the time the Scourged Whelpling was done Lil’ XT was around 44 hp. Nice try, but no cigar. The ABP came in to Avalaache, which pained me to see the 440 strong damage to Lil’ XT only do 44 damage. Oh well. Bonkers had 290 hp after the Avalance. It wasn’t looking good for my opponent at this point. They made a desperate swap to Lil’ XT but that just gave me an extra turn. Bark spam finished off the battle. Things might have gone differently if Bonkers had landed a stun but it never happened.

I have a Yu’la, Blackfuse Bombling and Alterac Brew-Pup team that has been doing very well for me man. Try it out, the AoE is insane. Avalanche is too strong as a sweeper, in my humble opinion, since it can do 200/pet or 600 in on pet lol.

I’ve been playing with this team quite a bit and it’s been winning way more than I ever thought it would. That Zandalari Toenibbler must have ripped right through your Scourged Whelpling.
