Today’s Team: The Goo Bird
S/S Fiendish Imp (Burn, Immolation, Nether Gate)
P/P Son Of Animus (Metal Fist, Touch Of The Animus, Extra Plating)
P/B Ji-Kun Hatchling (Slicing Winds, Acid Goo, Flock)

Strategy:
I didn’t have a lot of time to play today but I did buy and level a Ji-Kun Hatchling. Acid Goo and Flock seemed like an obvious fit for some DoTs. The Fiendish Imp fits the bill. It’s been a while since I used the Son Of Animus so it’ll be my third. The plan is to get Immolate going with the Imp then either bring in Animus or the bird depending on the match-up. Either of those pets will work with the Immolation: Animus with Touch heals or the bird with damage amplification.

Concerns:
I’m not sure how this team will deal with the top pets on my meta. The Ji-Kun Hatchling may do against both Adders and perhaps Val’kyrs but Idols will be annoying.

The Opposing Team:
B/B Ruby Droplet
P/P Baby Ape
S/S Lil’ Bling

The Battle:
021314AThe combo of Acid Goo and Flock is really spectacular. Lil’ Bling got pounded by three Slicing Winds with Goo and Shattered Defenses up. It did over 1k damage (around 340 per hit). With Make It Rain, Acid Touch, Flock, Banana Barrage and Immolate the battle log is long and messy. In fact, the first ten rounds are cut off. I’ll have to do some hand waving here. The Ruby Droplet’s Plagued Blood out healed Touch Of The Animus. Even though Lil’ Bling went down fast the Ruby Droplet ended up being hard to take down. I was already losing at the end when two bad things happened: the Baby Ape won the coin toss against Animus for the kill. Then the Fiendish Imp missed a Nether Gate. I can’t blame the loss on rng as I was already losing, but it did make it impossible for a comeback.
