Today’s Team: American Fungus Story
H/H Spirit Crab (Snap, Whirlpool, Shell Shield)
H/P Infected Squirrel (Stampede, Creeping Fungus, Consume)
P/P Diemetradon Hatchling (Quick Attack, Triple Snap, Ravage)

Strategy:
I’m late. People have been talking about how great the Infected Squirrel is for awhile but every time I tried using it this pet felt average. Until last night when I gave it a serious shot. I’m now officially a fan of the Infected Squirrel. Put up Creeping Fungus then Stampede. If I think it’ll buy me an extra turn then Consume, or else Fungus and Stampede again. It’s very simple to use but it’s been taking a lot of pets down. The Diemetradon has been doing okay in a few different comps, I just threw it in because I’ve been having fun with it. The Spirit Crab is there for some soaking and damage output.

Concerns:
In a Sandstorm Stampede and Fungus are pretty worthless.

The Opposing Team:
H/S Skywisp Moth
P/P Thundering Serpent Hatchling
H/H Scourged Whelpling

The Battle:
121613AThis one was fast. The Squirrel had to face the Serpent Hatchling to start. I cast Fungus and Stampede in the hopes that the dragon would cast Lightning right away, but it waited until right before death. The Squirrel easily won that battle but there was a Cyclone out and this was looking like an AoE team. Sure enough, the Scourged Whelpling came out to cast Dreadful Breath. My Squirrel used Consume, Fungus and Stampede. The damage from Lightning and Dreadful Breath was really adding up. The Squirrel took out the Whelpling and was able to get in one turn of Stampede against the Moth. Things were looking good for me. I brought in the barely living Diemetradon to Quick Attack the debuffed Moth for 539 damage. The battle came down to what was left of my Spirit Crab versus the Moth. I had the win wrapped up but a missed Snap meant that I had to use my undead round to kill the Moth. Rng happens, I guess a draw is better than a loss.
