Today’s Team: Ratty Dread
S/S Robo-Chick (Batter, Overtune, Wind-Up)
H/H Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Death and Decay, Plagued Blood)
S/S Black Rat (Scratch, Poison Fang, Survival)
This was a second tier team in 5.3. Not the best, but better than average. How will it fare in 5.4?

Strategy:
The plan is to use Plagued Blood to heal the Whelpling and the two other pets. They both can benefit greatly from Plagued Blood. The Chick has a multiple attack (Batter), the Rat has a Dot (Poison Fang), each hit or tick will result in a heal. I used to love the Robo-Chick but don’t use it as much anymore. Even before it was the victim of power creep I didn’t see it used much in PvP. Maybe everyone else knows something I don’t :P.

Concerns:
Sandstorm or shields can completely shut down this team.

The Opposing Team:
H/H Anubisath Idol
S/S Gilnean Raven
H/H Unborn Val’kyr

The Battle:
121413AI knew this would be a tough one when I saw the opposing team. It actually went much better than I thought. I figured my opponent would start with the Val’kyr so I started with my Rat. I was right. Strong Scratches and a Survival meant that the Rat was able to take the Val’kyr to 0 hp and get to the safety of the back line with 1 hp remaining. I swapped to the Chick as the Val’kry cast Unholy Ascension. So far not bad, but here comes the Idol. I was pleasantly surprised when the Idol cast Stoneskin instead of Sandstorm. Batter is useless but Wind-Up has owned many Idols in the past. Really, it has. A few Crush misses and I’m starting to like my chances here. The last Wind-Up took the Idol to 180 hp, I was only going to get one move off so I tried to Batter for the kill, but the Idol survived with 3 hp and took out the Chick. In came my Scourged Whelpling to finish off the Idol. I think I’ve got it wrapped up. As soon as the Raven loses its racial I can pull off the win with a Survival and two Scratches. I got the Raven down to 863 hp with two more Tail Sweeps before the Whelpling was done. Sadly both Tail Sweeps missed, which meant the Raven never lost its racial and it finished of my Rat for the win. Oh Darkness, I shake my fist at thee. I never even got to use Plagued Blood with the other two pets.
