Team Focus: Rascally Demolisher
S/S De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion (Metal Fist, Extra Plating, Demolish)
H/H Dragonbone Hatchling (Thrash, Adrenaline Rush, Cyclone)
H/B Terky (Flank, Lucky Dance, Clobber)

I chose a fun team that I wouldn’t mind losing a few with. The opposite happened. It took a little lot of luck, a very calm meta and quite a few spineless opponents, but for the first time on video… well, just watch.

3:40
vs. Zandalari Toenibbler, Sentinel’s Companion, Blazing Firehawk
I don’t think the battle was over.

vs. Zandalari Toenibbler, Sentinel’s Companion, Blazing Firehawk
Ok, I will thank the rng gods for that one.

14:25
vs. Winterspring Cub, Abyssius, Azure Whelpling
I told you already, it wasn’t exactly the most competitive day on my meta.

19:30
vs. Chichen, Crystal Spider, Nexus Whelpling
Another early flee, but this time I had it wrapped up.

23:30
vs. Chicken, Crystal Spider, Nexus Whelpling
So close. Such bad luck with the eggs.

29:55
vs. Kun-Lai Runt, Sentinel’s Companion, Blazing Firehawk
My earlier opponent attempted to upgrade to a KLR. Another close one.

39:20
vs. Darkmoon Zeppelin, Stitched Pup, Corefire Imp
Finally an undead for Terky to attack.

46:50
vs. Arctic Hare, Bonkers, Hydraling
I’m starting to get cranky. The rage is showing.

49:30
vs. Son Of Sethe, Nexus Whelpling, MPD
C’mon now people, is it really that bad?

53:00
vs. Bone Serpent, MPD, Alpine Hare
This was probably the toughest battle.

Towards the end of the run I was acting like I had really accomplished something, but after looking back at the video there were way too many battlers who fled too early. Oh well, it was still a nice run.

Having trouble uploading again. This time I will save the video until I get the problems resolved.

How is it possible that you didnt run into one Teroclaw? My meta has been filled with them since the pre patch was launched. They are incredibly hard to beat now. Ive even seen a team of 3 Teroclaws. Its ridiculous!

Now that AoE has been nerfed, Dodge is more powerful, so, yeah, Teroclaws are pretty common around my neck of the woods too. It wouldn’t shock me to see five battles in a row without them, though.

Even at the height of the Undead Menace, I saw Graves in only about 20% of battles over time, and Bone Serpent in maybe 30%. If Teroclaws are in 25% of battles, your chance of avoiding them five times in a row is about 25%. If they are in 15% of battles, your chance of avoiding 10 in a row is about 20%.

Of course, your local meta isn’t random. It will depend on feedback from the other players at that time. When someone gets trounced by a team of heavy-hitters, they pull out their own big guns. It’s remarkable, really, that a lot of us don’t play our best teams all the time. Can you imagine teams going into Arena saying “the meta seems calm today; guess I won’t bother equipping my best trinkets.” When you see a lot of high-powered teams, you will likely see more as people power up to meet them.

Some days, even in the Graves meta, I could go for 5 or 10 battles without seeing a meta team – and then someone introduces one, and everybody goes mediaeval.

When your meta goes all Huge Sharp Teeth, it’s worth trying with an alt on a very different realm (no, I don’t know what that means either) or just leave it for another time.
