Today’s Team: Swallowed The Cap
H/P Blighted Squirrel (Woodchipper, Crouch, Stampede)
H/P Snarly (Rip, Surge, Blood In The Water)
S/S Jademist Dancer (Steam Vent, Rain Dance, Acid Rain)

Rationale:
There’s synergy between the undead squirrel and Snarly with Woodchipper and BITW. There’s also synergy between Snarly and the Jademist Dancer with Acid Rain and both Surge/BITW. I had my first chance this week to sit down and chain queue; my chosen companion has been the Blighted Squirrel. That little ball of disease can often take out a pet and a half by using the basic rotation of Woodchipper then Crouch then Stampede. Not always, but often. So far I’ve been starting with the Blighted Squirrel in almost every battle, with the exception being against valks. In that case I’m starting with Snarly. The highlight of the night has been beating a DAH, valk and rabbit team a few times.

Concerns:
The Blighted Squirrel can get boring.

The Opposing Team:
B/B Forest Moth
P/S Toothy
H/H Lost Of Lordaeron

The Battle:
082714AAs planned I started with the Blighted Squirrel. The moth was the first opposing pet. Moth Dust didn’t proc sleep but hit as the squirrel applied the bleed. I didn’t use Crouch because wanted to take down the cocoon and still get the debuff up. Even without using Crouch, the squirrel was able to take out the moth. The Lost Of Lordaeron came in to take some more of the Blighted Squirrel’s damage. By the time round 10 finished the Blighted Squirrel was dead, the moth was dead, the LoL was over half gone with Shattered Defenses up. Another awesome showing for the Blighted Squirrel. I brought the Jademist Dancer in to finish off the undead ghost then got off a few Steam Vents on Toothy. Snarly easily mopped up.

I think it would be fun if you compared the blighted squirrel to the infected squirrel. The other 2 pets would be the same. Maybe no bleed teams and no moonlight teams since each gives one pet a distinct advantage.
Maybe even the second pet should be the same also, in which case the Sen’jin Fetish makes good sense with wild magic giving a chance against shells and sandstorm.

If I had a world famous pet battling blog, Id do it! Actually, Ill tell you what. If you do this, Ill do the same and report my results here.

I think when I do these things I always go for more games than you do, but I would say a minimum of 5 games per fixed team.

Great idea! I think most people prefer the 305 power of the Infected Squirrel, but I do enjoy Crouching. I with the Blighted Squirrel had better base stats.

Quick question do you prefer the H/P Blighted Squirrel over the P/S one or does it just happen to be the one you’ve levelled etc.

Reason I ask is I don’t actually have an H/P and wondered if I should be heading to Silverpine to get one!

Well the p/s and the h/p have the same power, so no advantage there. It’s an undead so it will get off it’s last round attack and 289 speed won’t beat most pets running a stun, blind, or interrupt. 146 doesn’t seem like much more hp, so they probably perform around the same.

If your only concern is that the squirrel “can get boring” this must be an awesome team – can’t wait to try it!

I love your blog and have been lurking and learning for quite some time. I had to laugh reading about this team, as I was beaten by this very combination just today. Snarly took me by surprise with BITW, because I didn’t realize the squirrel had been chomping on me. It was great fun to be beaten by an unexpected team. Thanks for sharing the good ideas and interesting combinations!
