Five Wins Or Bust
My hell week of training in the day and teaching a night is done, so now I can… miss a lot more dailies next week when I’m doing some bike touring. What can I say, life is busy at the moment. At least I’ll be able to get a few days in.

Battle 1: X-Visitors
Yu’La, Ravager Hatchling, Spirit Crab
vs. Clockwork Gnome, Voodoo Figurine, Ominous Flame

080114GI decided to go with Breath instead of Jadefire Lightning for a change. The Celestial Blessing is for the low hp but hard-hitting Ravager Hatchling. I haven’t been playing much lately but whenever I do this person seems to be on. I can tell by the name of the Clockwork Gnome. It’s interesting because they seemed like a new player a few weeks ago but their teams are getting more creative. As soon as the gnome gets dropped they will win a lot more. I ended up winning this one even though I brought the Ravager Hatchling out against the gnome. The blessing and Devour kept it alive in order to dish out the damage which was the plan all along.
Record: 1-0

Battle 2: Gucci Crew II
Fiendish Imp, Imperial Eagle Chick, Gu’chi Swarmling
vs. Corehound Pup, Emerald Proto-Whelp, Dark Whelpling

080114EThis was a slow and annoying battle against an opponent that let the time run down almost to the end every round. My imp cast Immolation then back lined after taking an 850 damage Howl/Burn. I brought my bird in. Later I took a chance with the Imperial Eagle Chick hoping for all three Thrashes while debuffed and it paid off with a Corehound Pup kill. My eagle was then able to take out the green dragon and watch the dark one leave after missing a Tail Sweep under its own darkness.
Record: 2-0

Battle 3: Y-Visitors
Harmonious Porcupette, Ravager Hatchling, Spirit Crab
vs. Corehound Pup, Emerald Proto-Whelp, Dark Whelpling

080114BI was surely headed for a loss here. Rng was not nice with Rend hitting only twice three out of four times and later a crucial Scratch miss against the healing dragon. Even if my Harmonious Porcupette could take out the Emerald Proto-Whelp my crab would later be stuck against a Corefire Hound with Howl and Scratch. Rather than stay for the win my opponent bailed when the Harmonious Porcupette was at 34 hp and the green dragon at 400, I’m not sure why.
Record: 3-0

Battle 4: Party Party Party
Tiny Twister, Lil’ Bling, Macabre Marionette
vs. Skywisp Moth, Eternal Strider, Fluxfire Feline

080114HMy opponent got me good with the opening choice of pets. I assumed that the moth would start because that’s what usually happens but the Eternal Strider started instead. I had started with my Macabre Marionette which was not a good match-up against the aquatic. I had to waste a turn to get Lil’ Bling in but the shiny mech was able to take out the Eternal Strider. Then my opponent brought the moth in. I was expecting this to be a close and interesting battle but my opponent missed a few turns. This shifted the battle in my balance and I was able to win. What’s up with tonight, is WoW having connection issues? Didn’t this happen just recently in another Five Wins Or Bust?
Record: 4-0

Battle 5: Darkshore Deathsquad
Shimmershell Snail, Darkshore Cub, Squirrel
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Blossoming Ancient, Dread Hatchling

I just found out something worse than losing to a dirty valk. Losing to a dirty valk and an assbutt tree at the same time (thank you Castiel for making “assbutt” a part of my vocabulary). I felt outclassed from the beginning, the darkness misses surely didn’t help. As so often happens with a loss I forgot to get screen shot due to my focus on the battle.
Record: 4-1

Battle 6: Bog Bastards
Fiendish Imp, Sen’Jin Fetish, Tiny Bog Beast
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Blossoming Ancient, Dread Hatchling

080114FDang man, I hate losing two in a row to the same team. Especially to a Blossoming Ancient. This battle was more of the long, drawn out type of sunlight battle. The Fiendish Imp has taken out Sunflowers and trees in wars of attrition before but not this time. Even if it had won that there was a valk waiting to take it out. Oh how quick one can go from 100% to 67% win rate.
Record: 4-2

Battle 7: Assbutt Trees
Jademist Dancer, Spirit Crab, Snarly
vs. Squirrel, Skywisp Moth, Lil’ Bling

080114CAww, no revenge for me. I queued with this team with dreams of deforestation but that satisfaction would not be mine. I won this battle fairly easily, then queued again with the hope of killing trees. I got a team with the names “Cowards Use” and “Valks and Adders”. I thought it was funny because these were the names of a Fossilized Hatchling and Warbot, both really good pets at the moment. Sure, the two pets you mention need to be toned down, but your pets aren’t exactly harmless victims.
Record: 5-2

You watch Supernatural too, eh? I love that show. :) ‘Twas funny to see you name a team after Cas’s favorite putdown.

There was something in the battlegroup yesterday that brought out the most Blossoming Ancient, Sunflower and Crawdad based teams I have seen in a long while. I lost some long ass battles based on my Imp missing nether gate at the worst time.
I was definitely nerd raging up a storm last night. It did make me wonder about why nether gate can miss but wish can not.

I love that you brought out the Ravager Hatchling. I really like that one.

    • Luthorien says:

Ditto…I need to do that more often…otherwise, what the heck did I level mine for!? Lol.

    • Discodoggy says:

When all three rends plus the beast racial hits… wow.

      • Vek says:

Yea 341 power rend is really nice. :)

Mine has had fun against DAH with Screech(too bad Screech feels like the alpha version of Primal Cry, which this pet could use more since it is quite squishy).

Don’t think I have tried or gotten Devour to work, perhaps I should try it with Celestial Blessing. But I still think Rampage works well enough, really hits hard with beast racial. Have taken out Idols even switching into a Sandstorm, since Idols often run with Crush.

        • Vek says:

I think my problem is that I often get to use Devour against undead and then it does not work, kind of sucks since there obviously is enough left for consume corpse.
