Today’s Team: Zone Of Proximal Twilight
P/P Twilight Spider (Strike, Sticky Web, Leech Life)
P/P Twilight Beetle (Flank, Hiss, Swarm)
P/P Twilight Fiendling (Creepy Chomp, Creeping Ooze, Siphon Life)

Rationale:
Sometimes a silly themed team can be fun. Really the only thing my team has going for it is strong attacks against two of the most common families of pets: humanoids and undead. With all my powerful pets I want to take the enemy pets down hard and fast, without swaps or stalling. I better get my choice of first pet right.

Concerns:
I built my team around the word twilight. What could possibly go wrong?

The Opposing Team:
H/H Weebomination
S/S Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
H/P Fragment Of Anger

The Battle:
041615ADang, I replaced Brittle Webbing with Sticky Web at the last moment; the former may have been useful. My hat goes off to the P/P Twilight Beetle. Flank was hitting the undead pets at 270 damage a pop. The beetle took out both the Weebomination and the FoA as they did their AoE thing. Flank only hit the third attack once, but really I don’t think it would have made a difference if it hit more since my two remaining pets weren’t equipped to deal with the incredible sweeping ability of the MPD. The MPD cleaned up my spider and my little fiend quite easily. Oh well, you can’t expect to win every battle when running a themed team. It’s actually really fun because there’s no pressure to win, and if you do win it can be very satisfying. Try it!

Still a better love story than Twilight.

You’d be hard pressed to survive that matchup with any ‘fanciful’ team .. a very punishing trio to face.. this is the kind of opponent that forces you to have weather, a stun, healing or tanky pets to accompany a good performer like your p/p beetle

Whats fun is to re-queue with another mix that features your best performer and 2 better choices..then beat the pulp out of them…I’d go with the p/p twilight beetle..then add the fiendish imp and a great undead beater like an alpine foxling or fjord worg pup….dazzling dance would be amazing for letting your beetle pummel away more quickly too ..the spring rabbit is a favorite of yours Disco but I think it might necessitate too many avoidance turns and play to the adv. of an aoe opponent

P/P teams suffer from Undead and Mechanical Cleave teams, on who the extra power is often wasted for two rounds. And their cleave is very effective since you have so little health to go around, cleave hits against your total healthpool after all.

And there are a lot of these teams around.

But currently I’ve also become a bit afraid to run completely fun teams due to the queue.

Currently I’m interested in pioneering some less-oft seen pets that are generally faster than 309 speed, or have a way to take down Decoy.

Right now I feel that pets need to do one of the following things:

      – Clear Decoy
      – Heal the team + have an ability that does 2-turn damage or avoids 2-turns of damage
      – Hurts Undead badly

Stuff like the S/B Elfin Rabbit (Faster than the stupid imp as well, has Flurry) does it well.

I still would really like to make a Lightning-Peddlefeet team as well (peddlefeet sort of does omnislash, should scale well with lightning, is also fast and can stun, and can heal, his damage sucks when he’s not first though)

Currently also trying a stupid avoidance team:

S/B Elfin Rabbit (Flurry, Dodge, Burrow)
S/S Bronze Whelp (Slash, Prison, Liftoff)
P/S Amber Moth (Alpha Strike, Cocoon Strike, Moth Dust)

      • Sibel from Kazzak says:

PS. The S/S Frostfur Rat should also go somewhere, it’s really fast (like faster than the Imp too).

      • Sibel from Kazzak says:

PPS. (Disco let us edit these things already 😛 )

S/B Clockwerk Gnome is also a decent pet, it’s only issue is it only has 289 speed, but it has an anti-mechanical attack, and an attack that clears Decoy)

I’m thinking of a Lightning caller and the Clockwerk Gnome and Peddlefeet now, hmmm.

I’m looking into a comment addon. I tried installing something tonight but it it isn’t working properly.

My team is perfectly countered by a Dread Hatchling it seems; back to the drawing board.

        • Vek says:

Your moth should have been able to get the dread to below 50%, then the rabbit would kill it easy. But you would need that match up at the start since you don’t really want to switch in a pet to eat either of those powerful call darkness/nocturnal strike.

          • Sibel from Kazzak says:

My moth wasnt out at that point, and if you have to swap it in it is already too late because youll lose the racial bonus.

He did get a very inconvenient crit on me tho, i had to swap the dragon away because i knew darkness was coming so i got the moth which is power speed to beat other flyers. darkness crit and the gane was over though. had to swap again because the claw would kill the moth, but the claw hit my whatever i swapped in for over 500.

That stupid hatchling always shows up when i dont have something with soulrush.

          • Sibel from Kazzak says:

enemy started with an emerald dragon whelp with heals and bite. i chose my rabbit, it died but left the whelp low enough for my dragonling to finish it for free. in came the hatchling, i stunned it and did a slash after, maybe i should have swapped right away. swapped to avoid darkness, rest is above

Any shield or sandstorm comp laughs off the gnome and lightning..the emperor crab (p/p) is amazing against them

I have seen Peddlefeet do well in PvP ..it hits spots vs slow teams…not what I call a great difference maker

  4. tekulve says:

That crab -with surge- will even down fliers if their racial is no longer in effect

  5. Sibel from Kazzak says:

Would it be an idea for the next POTM to do somethin else? Like run a team with at least 2 explode’s (armageddon, that spore explode, all fine) ?

altho maybe we commenters can just try craft a funnt allahu akbar team without the contest.

  6. Sibel from Kazzak says:

Nuts + Mountain Panda = I hate Undead and I am not afraid to show it.

Fought a Nuts with my team with two Undead in it. That thing kicks ass and also stops Decoy!
