Today’s Team: Dogger Vikings
S/S Arctic Hare (Flurry, Dodge, Burrow)
H/H Lost Of Lordaeron (Shadow Slash, Arcane Explosion, Bone Prison)
P/S Mountain Panda (Scratch, Rock Barrage, Mudslide)

Rationale:
After reading the comments on 4/11/15 I really wanted to give a Mountain Panda another shot. Why not add it to my current favorite combo, the LoL and rabbit? The Mountain Panda adds another way to take down charges of decoy with Rock Barrage. The beast also carries Mudslide, a useful weather change and root. I’m running on empty tonight, so let’s get down to business.

Concerns:
Rock Barrage is a 50% barrage move, when all of the ticks miss it can be realy annoying.

The Opposing Team:
P/P Infinite WHelpling
P/B Spawn Of G’Nathus
P/P Spawn Of Onyxia

The Battle:
041415ABattles like this are why rabbits are on the top pet list. I started with the rabbit and by using its avoidance moves at the right time I was able to take out the Spawn of G’Nathus, then the Spawn of Onyxia and then get a Flurry off on the Infinite Whelpling. The battle got sort of interesting after my rabbit died because I couldn’t select my next pet; I had tried to move the CD counter from my Pet Tracker addon when my mouse got stuck on it and I couldn’t click on anything else. That’s never happened before, and I hope it doesn’t happen again. In a closer battle that could be disastrous. However, this wan’t a close battle and my two pets easily took out the Infinite Whelpling.

Yea 50% is annoying, but when everything hits it will hurt alot.

I don’t really get how they balanced the different Barrage abilities, of course it is a combination of Hit%, Damage, DoT Duration and Cooldown. But 50% is annoying, could at least have been balanced around 75% or something. All DoT’s do the same damage per hit.

From warcraftpets(so damage is then of course changed by pet strength):
Banana Barrage, 591 Dmg, 1 round CD, 50% hit, 2 round DoT. – Beast
Bone Barrage, 531 Dmg, 1 round CD, 80% hit, 4 round DoT. – Undead
Egg Barrage, 669 Dmg, 1 round CD, 50% hit, 3 round DoT. – Critter
Nut Barrage, 531 Dmg, 1 round CD, 80% hit, 4 round DoT. – Critter
Rock Barrage, 630 Dmg, 2 Round CD, 50% hit, 3 round Dot. – Elemental

You are wrong to compare them like this though. Abilities such as Rock Barrage hit FOUR times instead of THREE.

      • Vek says:

This is of course important but not readily available tooltip data. It can work in favour of the 4 attack abilities in Lightning or against a debuffed(wild magic/black claw type, or touch of animus/plagued blood) but of course counts on you actually hitting. 4 attacks vs 3 attacks does help 50% a bit.

    • Sibel from Kazzak says:

A Rock Barrage has a 69% chance of clearing a Decoy with it’s initial attack. (At least 2 hits). At least one hit will occur 94% of the times, at least two hits will occur 69% of the times (obviously). At least three hits will occur 31% of the times. And 4 hits will occur 6% of the times. (With this ability you also have a 6% chance of scoring no hits and not clearing Decoy fully in one round).

A Bone barrage has a 90% chance of clearing a Decoy with it’s initial attack. (At least 2 hits). At least one hit will occur 99% of the times, at least two hits will occur 90% of the times (obviously). Three hits will occur 51% of the times. (With this ability you also have a 1% chance of scoring no hits and not clearing Decoy fully in one round).

Thanks Vek for taking the time to compile that information.

Don’t barrage moves always remove both charges of decoy on the initial attack?

      • Wiff says:

It seems to me like any ability no matter the hit chance will always become 100% versus barrier charges. I’m reminded of how Cyclone would always eat a teamwide Shieldstorm in one turn.

Maybe next time the Mountain Panda will actually see some action!

The bone serpent’s barrage is a great choice since the h/h breed allows for 1600hp and excellent power on an undead pet…beware of a CD lockout of course

The mountain panda’s barrage is not as good, but this pet’s excellence lies in mudslide…we love strong vs undead attacks and rooting is effective with so many PvP players who want to switch a lot …with teroclaw, imps and other back line healers
