Game 1 (Pho Cough)
Fiendish Imp, Warbot, Spirit Crab
vs. Fiendish Imp, Fiendish Imp, Pygmy Direhorn

090613GPho Cough can definitely deal with this team, I was looking forward to a hard fought battle against a top flight team. And it would have been that type of battle if rng didn’t totally screw my opponent. One missed Nether Gate and two missed Burns meant an easy win for me. It’s pretty hard to come back from that kind of bad luck.

Game 2 (Bored Team Three)
Crimson Lasher, Lil’ Bad Wolf, Shrine Fly
vs. Gilnean Raven, Anubisath Idol, Direhorn Runt

090613EIt’s the return of my lolnemesis! It’s been a while buddy. I refer to this person as my lolnemesis because they are truly one of the worst pet battlers I have ever encountered but they still often win due to the powerful pets on their team. In the past they have made such bad decisions I was certain that they were botting. It certainly seemed that way this battle. For example, they had one round of Shattered Defenses left on the Direhorn which was facing my 161 hp Wolf. That’s a no brainer, they should charge for the kill. But they didn’t Charge and I hit for 686 damage for the win.

Game 3 (Disco’s Destroyers)
Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Spirit Crab, Mongoose Pup
vs. Emerald Whelpling, Spiny Terrapin, Nether Fairie Dragon

090613BAfter starting with my initial Basilisk sequence of Prison, Thrash, then Feign my Crab came in to be the superstar. It took out the Whelpling and most of the Nether Fairie Dragon and even got a Whirlppol down before expiring. It was highly unlikely that the Terrapin was going to come back from that. It didn’t.

Game 4 (Ratty Dread)
Black Rat, Scourged Whelpling, Robo-Chick
vs. Lil’ Ragnaros, Clockwork Gnome, Wild Jade Hatchling

090613AGnome and Lightning scare me. I wanted to get my nine round DoT down so I started with the Scourged Whelpling. Lil’ Ragnaros came out to join it. A Trap went down on the first turn so I brought in the Rat. After applying my Poison the Trap went off so it’s ridiculousness was curbed somewhat by the Critter racial. Then the Lightning dragon came in and my DoTs stole the show. It was close with the Gnome vs. the Robo-Chick at the end but Plagued Blood along with Batter helped me survive long enough to take it out. It was a tight one.

I’m still surviving but sleep is calling, I’m gonna have to finish this up tomorrow…

… and I’m back.

Game 5 (To The Moon)
Fiendish Imp, Nether Fairie Dragon, Infected Squirrel
vs. Pandaren Earth Spirit, Harbinger Of Flame, Scourged Whelpling

090613HIt took a lot of swapping this battle to keep Creeping Fungus, Immolation and Moonlight up at the same time. It was worth it. Creeping Fungus in Moonlight really hurts, especially against Humanoids. I was able to Dodge the Rupture from the Earth Spirit and swap when Immolated by the Harbinger so nothing was able to hit me that hard. All my pets survived.

Game 6 (Flayed Ones)
Flayer Youngling, Son Of Animus, Scourged Whelpling
vs. Anubisath Idol, Stunted Direhorn, Son Of Animus

090613CFor the second Challenge Mode in a row I lost with this team. One problem is that if the match-up is bad for the Flayer then it’s completely worthless. That wasn’t the real problem, though. I was able to take down the Idol with Animus before the Direhorn came out. After finishing my Animus it was the Direhorn versus my Scourged Whelpling. I was getting the match-ups that I wanted, I might be able to pull this off. Two misses and three interrupts later my Whelpling was gone after hitting only one Plagued Blood. A good match-up is meaningless if you only connect on one out of six turns. It was no contest after that. I have the satisfaction of knowing both these pets that I hate are getting nerfed next week. I would like to say good riddance but I don’t think we will be rid of them, they’ll jut be a lot easier to deal with.

Game over.

Final Score: 5
