Game 1 (Moonspine)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Spineclaw Crab
vs. Pterrordax Hatchling, Clockwork Gnome, Mirror Strider

091313AI just got an H/H Spineclaw today. I decided to go with an H/H rather than the P/P because even with an awesome 357 power heal 1319 hp isn’t much to work with. I kind of feel like I made a poor decision since Bleed pets are about hitting the big damage numbers. I’ll go back and buy and P/P after the price drops. In its first battle the H/H did fine. The heal helped it stay alive, my opponent didn’t swap while bleeding so I nailed the Gnome with a Blood in the Water. Xu-Fu is still awesome, I’m totally not tired of running Xu-Fu and the Fairie Dragon. I probably should branch out a bit before actually I do get tired of this amazing combo.

Game 2 (Bring Out The Bling)
Fiendish Imp, Scourged Whelpling, Lil’ Bling
vs. Qiraji Guardling, Lil’ Bad Wolf, Nexus Whelpling

091313BI’m so glad that I leveled a toon on Area 52. There are plenty of the new pets on the AH to choose from, including the Lil’ Bling that I got yesterday. This was a scary battle because I knew the Sandstorm would foil my DoTs. Fortunately my opponent didn’t force the issue. They let me Gate out the Guardling whenever it came in so I didn’t have to deal with the Sandstorm. I used Lil’ Bling as a weak counter to the Nexus Whelpling’s powerful Mana Surge. Blingtron Gift Package is a nice move, too. Only a 50% hit rate but if you miss you get healed so something good is going to happen. I ended up not needing to use the Scourged Whelpling so I guess that counts as an easy victory.

Game 3 (Crabtron 100)
Spirit Crab, Spineclaw Crab, Lil’ Bling
vs. Strand Crab, Adder, Disgusting Oozeling

091313EThis worries me. I was facing a pretty mediocre team and I barely won. My Spirit Crab took out the Oozeling with no problems, although I made a mistake casting Shell Shield when I really didn’t need to against the Strand Crab. What good is casting a Shield if you’re not going to gain an extra turn from it? After my Spirit Crab expired I brought in the Spineclaw Crab. I tried Spiny Carapace just for kicks but it was blocked by the Strand Crab’s Shell Shield. The Bleeding combo did some nice damage to the opposing Crab and Lil’ Bling finished off the snake. Bling’s speed seems somewhat wasted on hard hitting moves like Rocket and Blingtron Gift Package. I still need to find a good team for it.

Game 4 (Spineclaw Tap)
Spineclaw Crab, Snarly, Infested Bear Cub
vs. Scourged Whelpling, Crimson Geode, Silkbead Snail

091313FI decided to give the Spineclaw Whirlpool instead of Blood In The Water so I can root Bleeding opponents then bring in the heavy hitters. I tried this on the Snail and forgot about the buffed Critter racial. Dude, where’s my root? (I never saw that movie by the way) It’s nice to know that the new improved Critter racial is working. I didn’t even need the root, my opponent kept the Snail in against the Infested Bear and got hit for a ton. The Geode came in and I was able to get a huge Blood In The Water hit. The Scourged Whelpling was easy enough to take down after that.

Game 5 (Nerf My Smurf)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Fiendish Imp
vs. Nether Fairie Dragon, Voodoo Figurine, Fossilized Hatchling

091313GI see what they were trying to do here with the coverage synergy for their Fairy Dragon but both of those Undeads are a bit lackluster. How can I say that when the Voodoo Figurine has the same move set as my beloved Sen’Jin Fetish? The Fetish has 325 power to the Figurine’s 289. That makes a huge difference. I had the event that I’ve been dreading happen this battle. Feed missed. At 90% accuracy I better get used to it. At least Prowl doesn’t wear off so I can come right back and hit with a Prowled Spirit Claw. And that’s exactly what I did.

Game 6 (Moonlight Fetish)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Sen’Jin Fetish
vs. Qiraji Guardling, Stunted Direhorn, Direhorn Runt

091313HSandstorm slightly nerfed. Direhorns slightly nerfed. Nice job Blizzard. People were complaining that putting Trihorn Charge on a one round CD wasn’t going to make a difference. It made a huge difference here. Rather than Charge and kill my Fairie Dragon the Direhorn had to wait its turn and got killed. Which allowed my Dragonkin racial to kick in and take a huge chunk out of the Guardling. That’s a pretty big turn around. Double shields wasn’t too bad to deal with since I had a weather change for the Sandstorm.

Game 7 (Needs More Crab)
Spirit Crab, Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon
vs. Corehound Pup, Mr.Grubbs, Spirebound Crab

091313IThe Fairie Dragon was able to Dodge the Corehound’s Howl/Dive combo and take it out due to its heavy hitting Dragonkin racial. After that the Crab came in to take out Mr. Grubs and damage the Spirebound Crab. Xu-Fu came in to Prowl and Spirit Claw, hitting for 1016 damage the same turn that the Whirlppol hit which amounted to a very dead Spirebound Crab.

Game 8 (Obvious Dragons)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Emerald Proto-Whelp
vs. Lost Of Lordaeron, Spirit Crab, Frosty

This was a hard one to swallow because I made a total noob mistake to lose it at the end. I was faster than the Spirit Crab with my Xu-Fu and I totally forgot about Prowl slowing me down lol. I had about 120 hp when I Prowled so the Crab going first on the next round killed me. So rather than heal (hopefully enough to outlast the Undead racial) and do some damage I lost. How did I even get to this point? I could blame the killshot miss on Frosty but my opponent also missed one time (although not a killshot), but really I didn’t play well. Oh well, that’s what it means to be human. Hopefully losing when I had such a high score will teach me a good lesson. And btw, I BLAME SNOW FOR THIS LOSS!

Game over.

Final Score: 7
