The first day of 5.4 and I got my Xu-Fu. Let’s see what I can do with him.

Game 1 (The Obvious Dragons)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Emerald Proto-Whelp
vs. Spectral Tiger Cub, Frosty, Celestial Dragon

091013BThe Emerald Proto-Whelp was able to easily handle the Spectral Cub which was using Leap and Rend. My Emerald Prescence was able to block a lot of the multi-attack Rend. Frosty came in after that, I swapped to Xu-Fu. It was a fairly uneventful match-up. I Spirit Clawed and Moonfired, I didn’t use my Prowl at all. The Ice Tomb killed me off so I didn’t lose a turn to the stun and then the Fairie came out to Dodge Frosty’s Undead turn. Finally, it was the Celestial Dragon against my Fairie Dragon and my 325 speed won the battle on the last round.

Only one game under my belt but it’s late, when tired one must choose sleep over WoW…

… let the Xu-Fu continue.

Game 2
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Restless Shadeling
vs. Nether Fairie Dragon, Golden Civet Kitten, Flayer Youngling

091013DMy Fairie started out by destroying the Civet Kitten and then thanks to speed and Dodge almost took out the opposing Fairie Dragon. It was at 14 hp when I brought my Shadeling out but it immediately gained 900+ hp from the Life Exchange. I should have seen that coming. The Shadeling and the Fairie cancelled each other so it came down to my Xu-Fu versus the Flayer. I wasn’t sure when (or if) I was going to use Prowl until the Flayer Rampaged. Now that it was locked in to that move for two more rounds I knew it couldn’t Deflect so I Prowled plus Spirit Clawed for the win.

Game 3 (Nerf My Smurf)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Fiendish Imp
vs. Red Dragonhawk Hatchling, Flayer Youngling, Azure Whelpling

091013AIt’s nice to see so many dragons already thanks to the buff. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be too much of a buff and we see Dragonkin all day every day. Right now it’s too early to tell. I’m obviously liking my Nether Fairie Dragon and the Imp turned out to be a nice third for this team. The battle started off as Imp versus Flayer. The Flayer couldn’t do much to the faster Imp so I just Burned it down until my opponent realized where it was headed. Nothing too interesting happened after that but the defining moment of this battle came when a Surge of Power took my Imp to 30 hp rather than kill it, which allowed it to refresh Immolation and back line.

Game 4
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Blossoming Ancient
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Scourged Whelpling, Flayer Youngling

I Dodged the Curse Of Doom and my opponent fled. Thank you for inflating my daily score.

Game 5 (Moonlight Fetish)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Sen’Jin Fetish
vs. Darkmoon Turtle, Scourged Whelpling, Electrified Razortooth

091013GI added the Fetish for some coverage against Mechs and Humanoinds. Xu-Fu and the Scourged Whelpling cancelled each other out. My Sen’Jin Fetish was able to take out the Razortooth and get a few shots at the Turtle. The Fairie Dragon was easily able to take out the Turtle after that. This new Dragonkin bonus is nice.

Game 6 (Celestial Two)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Celestial Dragon
vs. Darkmoon Turtle, Scourged Whelpling, Electrified Razortooth

091013FSame opponent, this time I had a different third. I wanted to add a second Moonlight so I could use Feed but I forgot to change the move so I was running three Moonlights. The healing bonus definitely helped the Whelpling this time, it was able to last a lot longer than last game. The Turtle did nothing special again. The Dragonkin buff seems to be okay so far. I don’t feel that it has sent Dragonkin over the top damage wise but it has given them a push to be competitive. I don’t think that I would’ve won all of these games so far without it.

Game 7 (Celestial Two)
Xu-Fu, Nether Fairie Dragon, Celestial Dragon
vs. Son Of Animus, Frosty, Lil’ Tarecgosa

I wanted to give Feed a try so I ran the same team as last battle. Some yellow numbers brought an end to my run. I was going to take a hit on Frosty’s Undead turn before using my Dodge but Frosty crit, taking me out. That was costly since I would have gotten two more moves off instead of Dying. It came down to Animus’ Failsafe turn but my Celestial Dragon couldn’t do the job.

Game over.

Final Score : 6
