It’s Tuesday. The Direhorns will be out with people trying to get their 10 wins for the weekly. It’s a scary time to queue.

Game 1: Crabby Smacker
Spirit Crab, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Crimson Geode
vs. Anubisath Idol, Deathy, Curious Wolvar Pup

072413AI knew the big boys would be around today, here’s an Idol in the first battle. The Idol used Rupture, so I knew it didn’t have Deflection. It could take a huge chunk of hp if my buffed Stone Rush can hit through the Sandstorm. Smack! It hit for 1196 damage to the Idol. Now I only have to worry about Darkness from Deathy and the Trap. The Basilisk handled Deathy and the Trap never went off on my Crab.

Game 2: Sears and Robot
Spirit Crab, Sen’Jin Fetish, Warbot
vs. Fiendish Imp, Fiendish Imp, Briliant Kaliri
072413BI figured my opponent would start with an Imp so I started with the Fetish, thus forcing the Gate. Instead the Kaliri Came out. I Immolated, then got off a few Shadow Slashes. I thought about Searing the Cyclone, but didn’t think that was worth a wasted turn. Instead I swapped to the Warbot when I knew the Kaliri would die in two ticks of Immolation. That way if it swaps it’ll die in the backline, if it doesn’t then I’ll get a Minefield down.

I got the Minefield down for an incoming Imp, which killed my Warbot in two turns. I atleast got a Missile off, which hit. Then out comes the Fetish with 600 hp. Ideally my opponent would like to wait a turn, and take me to 0 hp with the Gate, but that’s not an option since the Fetish can hit the Humanoid so hard. The Imp Gates, but it misses, the Imp dies to a Shadow Slash. The next Imp came out, successfully Gated the Fetish, but now has an almost full-health Crab to deal with. The Imp ran when it got down to 200ish hp.

Game 3: To The Moon
Fiendish Imp, Nether Fairie Dragon, Infected Squirrel
vs. Sinister Squashling, Onyxian Whelpling, Peddlefeet

072413CI saw Peddlefeet and was immediately worried about Lightning, but there were no Lightning pets. I started with the Imp, Immolated and got stunned by Peddlefeet. After some swapping, DoTs, and a Nether Gate, Peddlefeet ended up dying on the backline from Creeping Fungus. The Squashling ended up Planting, I brought in the Fairie Dragon. I wasn’t sure how much Plant heals for, I remember it being a lot so I didn’t use my Moonfire right away because I don’t it to benefit the pumpkin head. My opponent must have been waiting for me to use Moonfire, and then waited too long because they never unplanted. The Onyxian Whelpling, cute as it is, was easy to finish off with all of my pets still alive.

Game 4: Acid Bath
Corefire Imp, Jade Oozeling, Shimmershell Snail
vs. Fel Flame, Nexus Whelpling, Scourged Whelpling

072413DI thought I played this one alright. I started with my Immolation, but couldn’t get off Wild Magic because of the Impending Conflagrate. Instead I swapped in the soft counter Snail to eat some damage. My opponent went to the Nexus Whelpling and Arcane Winds. It was able to get off only one Mana Surge before dying, still good. Unfortunately, Darkness from Scourged Whelpling caused some misses and of course reduced my healing. It took the Oozeling to finish off the Whelpling, but Scorched Earth crit to take my Oozeling out. The Flame just had too much hp for my Imp to take out.

Game over.

Final Score: 3 wins
