I’m back from a day off yesterday. What does my meta have in store for me?

Game 1 (Crabby Smacker)
Spirit Crab, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Elementium Geode
vs. Spiny Terapin, Dancing Water Skimmer, Electrified Razortooth

080613GMy Basilisk dominated this one. It was faster than all of the opposing pets and my opponent swapped a lot. Which meant many Thrashes and Prisons headed in their direction. Overall a very easy win to start.

Game 2 (Total Thrash)
Fiendish Imp, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Warbot
vs. Magical Crawdad, Fel Flame, Nordrassil Wisp

080613FAgain a lot of swapping. This time the Wisp was faster than my Basilisk so I had to play it safe. I was able to use the Mech as a soft counter to Light. Either that or get out of the way. I was able to Feign both incoming Conflagrates, that helped a lot.

Game 3 (Blue Hawks)
Nexus Whelpling, Blighthawk, Blighthawk
vs. Ghostly Skull, Spectral Tiger Cub, Kirin Tor Familiar

080613EArcane winds helped us both. Mana Surge is kind of silly a move. An 80% chance to completely wreck your opponent. I don’t play it too much because it is so rng based. In this case the rng was on my side, hitting those Mana Surges is brutal. I’ve been beating a lot of Cub/Skull combos lately, must be because of all the duped Cubs.

Game 4 (Crabby Smacker)
Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Spirit Crab, Elementium Geode
vs. Ghostly Skull, Spectral Tiger Cub, Gilnean Raven

080613BSomeone on the forums was bragging about how this team wins 90% of its games. Apparently someone from my meta tried to copy them. I guess I’m the 10%. The funny thing is that they didn’t miss at all from darkness and I did. I really like the Geode, except Stone Rush is 95% accuracy. You basically put all of your eggs in a 95% basket with the Geode, when that 5% comes it often leads to a loss. I didn’t need it as much this time, I used Feedback on the bird.

Game 5 (The Hard Call)
Snarly, Infested Bear Cub, Warbot
vs. Lil’ Ragnaros, Murky, Scourged Whelpling

This one was very funny. I threw a Minefield down at the wrong time, on the Undead turn of the Scourged Whelpling. So instead of Murky walking into the minefield and me immediately laying another, he walked into it and my Minefield was on CD. I just wan’t paying attention due to chatting. I hate to make a lame excuse, but that’s what happened. I need to pay attention when I’m blogging haha. So anyways, I played it well enough to be in a position to win, Rag had 207 hp, a Minefield was down for the soon to be exploded Murky, I just need a hit for the win. Miss. Ok, I still got this. Trap goes off taking me to 0 hp, now I can’t even force the draw. The rng gods thought I should pay for my earlier mistake.

Game over.

Final Score: 4
