Game 1 (The Good Fight)
Robo-Chick, Diemetradon Hatchling, Mongoose Pup
vs. Anubisath Idol, Swamp Croaker, Viscidus Globule
I hate Sandstorm and will most likely always hate Sandstorm. Thank you opponent for starting out my Challenge Mode with a 28 round miss fest. My Chick was unable to take out the Idol thanks to a missed Wind-Up. I pulled it out for my Beast, my opponent went to the Globule. We both slowly chipped away until I came out the winner. In comes the frog, I had enough hp left on my Diemetradon to do some damage. What was turning out to be a very close battle that would come down to whether or not my Dive would hit in a Sandstorm was made easy due to an unnecessary swap by my opponent. They should have let me kill off the Croaker and let the Idol come in after the death. Instead they swapped to the Idol. I got to attack on the swap turn, I went first the next turn and finished off the Idol, then the Croaker on the next turn.
Game 2 (Frank Rizzo)
Son Of Animus, Black Rat, Fiendish Imp
vs. Direhorn Runt, Ghaz’rooki, Harbinger Of Flame
Rng was horrible to me. I missed three times (one Gate, one Burn, one Fist) to my opponent’s zero misses. I think what allowed me to win anyways was the Critter racial and Survival. The stun from Gahz’rooki’s Geyser was meaningless against the Critter racial and on the second Geyser I soaked most of the damage with Survival. Touch of the Animus did some nice healing to the Rat and the Imp.
Game 3 (The Hard Call)
Warbot, Snarly, Infested Bear Cub
vs. Cockroach, Electrified Razortooth, Restless Shadeling
This one was relatively fast at fourteen rounds. I threw down a Minefield while the Razortooth Ripped. I swapped to Snarly and got hit by the Blood In The Water anyways. Snarly took out the Razortooth with strong attacks. The Warbot came back in to take out the Shadeling and drop another Minefield, my Undead Bear took out the Cockroach.
Game 4 (Sears and Robot)
Warbot, Spirit Crab, Sen’Jin Fetish
vs. Sporeling Sprout, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Infected Squirrel
My last three Challenge Modes have ended at three wins so I went one of my go-to teams for the fourth win. I use the Basilisk so much I knew exactly what to expect. I started out with my Warbot facing the Basilisk. My opponent swapped to the Sprout as I threw down the Minefield. I went to the Fetish and the Sprout lasted a lot longer than I planned thanks to Crouch and some misses. It was one round away from outlasting the Minefield, which would have drastically changed the battle, but instead the Squirrel had to take the Minefield damage. By then I was pretty far ahead. By the end it was a 300 hp Basilisk against a full health Crab. Not gonna happen.
Game 5 (Disco’s Destroyers)Spirit Crab, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Clockwork Gnomevs. Stunted Direhorn, Wild Jade Hatchling, Clockwork Gnome
Sometimes Challenge Mode can be a bummer. Normally when a miss decides the outcome I can look at my Pet Accuracy Recorder and shake it off. When it happens in Challenge Mode I’m knocked out for the day so it’s more annoying. After being pounded by Cyclone and Lightning my Mongoose entered the battle with 4 hp to face the Gnome who had 100 hp and a Failsafe to spare. No problem, I’ll pop Survival, Gnaw twice and force the draw. It wouldn’t have been a win but at least I would live to fight another day. Except my first Gnaw missed. Bummer.
