Game 1 (Total Thrash)
Fiendish Imp, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Warbot
vs. Oasis Moth, Stunted Shardhorn, Unborn Val’kyr

082413DThe Warbot beat the Valk head to head. The Oasis Moth came out to a Minefield and the Warbot put another down right away. Then the combo of Gating the Flier and and the Shardhorn coming into Mines was brutal. The Basilisk mopped up, it was an easy game overall.

Game 2 (Feel Spectral)
Spectral Porcupette, Nordrassil Wisp, Gilnean Raven
vs. Pandaren Monk, Fel Flame, Snarly

082413EI was afraid of the Dragonkin attacks from the Flame but with two Magic pets there wasn’t much I could do. All of the blinding caused my opponent a lot of misses. Poor Snarly got one shot by a Nocturnal strike crit on the swap. Not sure what my opponent was thinking on that one. Just like every win with a Darkness team this one feel like it was more about luck than anything else.

Game 3 (Frank Rizzo)
Son Of Animus, Black Rat, Fiendish Imp
vs. Celestial Dragon, Nether Fairie Dragon, Enchanted Lamp

082413CI was a little bit worried facing the Lantern because I don’t see it too much so I don’t know what to expect. I turned out to not be a problem. The Fairie Dragon was pitted against two faster opponents so it never got used its Dodge. Touch Of The Animus plus Poison healed the Rat for 577 on the backline.

Game 4 (Cry Tough)
Spirit Crab, Warbot, Crimson Geode
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Kun-Lai Runt, Giant Bone Spider

It started off Warbot vs. Valk. We decided to duke it out, the Warbot won but it had used up its Failsafe and I now had Unholy Ascension on me. The Spider came into the Minefield and I was worried it would kill my Warbot, but it only applied a DoT which allowed me to get another Minefield down. The Crab came in and almost took the spider to 0 hp before it got swapped out. The Geode finished it off and smacked the Runt with Stone Rush for the win.

Game 5 (Big Baddies)
Alpine Hare, Lil’ Bad Wolf, Mr. Bigglesworth
vs. Stinker, Anubisath Idol, Direhorn Runt

With the Sandstorm accuracy debuff, the Stench accuracy debuff and the Direhorn’s double shielding this is an annoying team to face. Add the fact that I have a rabbit that’s worthless against both the Direhorn and the Idol I’m in a lot of trouble. This was a long one, so I’ll skip to the end. I killed Stinker with my half-health Wolf and I had a half-health Bigglesworth and a full-health rabbit. My opponent had a full-health Direhorn and a barely alive Idol. I still didn’t fancy my chances at winning because of the Direhorn. My opponent didn’t see it that way and ran. Really? And I forgot a screenshot!

Game 6 (Sears And Robot)
Spirit Crab, Sen’Jin Fetish, Warbot
vs. Celestial Dragon, Fossilized Hatchling, Robo-Chick

082413BDon’t they know that I’m the only one allowed to use the Robo-Chick on this meta? Just kidding, of course. It’s nice to see an underrated pet like the Chick getting some use. The battle was fairly straight forward. I laid down mines and switched to my Crab. The Crab and dragon cancelled each other out. Writing that makes me wonder how. I guess the dragon got an extra turn from the swap, but it still seems like the crab would own it. I’ll make a note of that. After that the Warbot beat the Undead raptor and the Fetish easily beat the Chick.

Game 7 (Le Stun)
Fjord Worg Pup, Pandaren Earth Spirit, Wolpertinger
vs. Szechuan Chicken, Fel Flame, Emerald Boa

This one hurts the pride. Yes, I lost to a Chicken in Challenge Mode. My strategy with Le Stun is Dancing for the speed buff and then using that speed to gain extra turns on the stuns. The Flyer was too fast and caused me trouble. That’ll teach me to use one of my lower-tier teams for Challenge Mode.

Game over.

Final Score: 6

  1. Nice streak!

I usually take Siphon when I use Son of Animus. I figure that people can swap out when I debuff them and I’m not likely to get any healing. It never occurred to me I could dot up the pet and get healed from the backline with it!

I haven’t done much with Siphon yet, I should make an Animus team that uses it rather than Touch and see how it goes.
