Game 1 (Feel Spectral)
Spectral Porcupette, Gilnean Raven, Nordrassil Wisp
vs. Gilnean Raven, Kun-Lai Runt, Disgusting Oozeling
I’m not a big fan of Darkness or Blinding, but I recently purchased a Spectral Porcupette and this is the (somewhat obvious) team that I created for it. In this battle there were a lot of misses on the other team thanks to my Blinds and Darkness. Not really a win to feel good about. I basically came out ahead on the coin flips.
Game 2 (Incrabbing)
Spirit Crab, Spirit Crab, Darkmoon Tonk
vs. Scourged Whelpling, Restless Shadeling, Menagerie Custodian
Someone missed the memo about Darkness affecting healing. Really, the Shadeling had Plagued Blood and Death Coil, both which were gimped under the Scourged Whelpling’s Darkness. The Custodian turned out to be a Demolish spammer, which can be annoying but didn’t matter in this case. My two Undead racials made the big damage from Demolish less significant when it took me to 0 hp.
Game 3 (Son Of Sanford)
Son Of Animus, Fel Flame, Scourged Whelpling
vs. Wild Golden Hatchling, Clockwork Gnome, Stunted Direhorn
I was really hoping the Direhorn would stay in against the Scourged Whelpling and it did. One out of two interrupts was not enough to take the Undead down. After losing their ace my opponent went all out with a Lightning/Cyclone/Turret attack even though that favored me greatly. I came out the winner.
Game 4 (Ratty Dread)
Scourged Whelpling, Black Rat, Robo-Chick
vs. Direhorn Runt, Gahz’rooki, Harbinger Of Flame
It started out Rat versus Harbinger so I put up my DoT and swapped to the Scourged Whelpling. After that it was a battle of head to head match-ups. My Scourged Whelpling beat the Harbinger but got sent to 0 hp. Then my Rat lost to Gahz’rooki thanks to a crit before I used Survival. Then my Robo-Chick didn’t get interrupted and hit both Wind-Ups to beat the Direhorn.
Game 5 (Crabby Smacker)
Spirit Crab, Scalded Basilisk Hatchling, Crimson Geode
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Feline Familiar, Giant Bone Spider
I’m sometimes tentative about using this team in Challenge Mode because it’s somewhat risky. Crystal Overload + Stone Rush can one shot some low hp pets (like the Familiar) but if you miss there’s not much room for a comeback with only 1319 hp. Fortunately I hit my Stone Rush for the winning killshot on the Familiar. The Crab and Basilisk were awesome as usual. The turn that solidified the win was juking the Spider’s swap of the almost dead Crab.
Game 6 (Acid Bath)
Corefire Imp, Shimmershell Snail, Jade Oozeling
vs. Stunted Direhorn, Wild Jade Hatchling, Clockwork Gnome
All that work for a draw. Lightning and Cyclone make for a long game. The running down of the timer by this combo is lame. At one point I was deciding what to do and the timer ran out on me. Sucks. On the last turn my Acid Goo and Immolation killed the Gnome but the Turrets killed my Imp, that’s how we ended up with a draw and no Undead pets.
Game 7 (Bring Out The Imp)
Scourged Whelpling, Fiendish Imp, Fel Flame
vs. Wild Jade Hatchling, Clockwork Gnome, Giant Bone Spider
Ok, it’s serious now, someone has brought out the Imp. Really I was trying to snipe the Lightning team I just faced. It wasn’t quite the same team but the result is what I was hoping for. My DoTs would like to thank your Lightning.
Game 8 (Remembering)
Gilded Moth, Jade Oozeling, Flayer Youngling
vs. Unborn Val’kyr, Giant Bone Spider, Feline Familiar
Where’s my Geode to smack this team around like earlier? Moths seem like PvP immortals when they hit their Dust and Sleep. Moths seem pathetic when they miss their Dust. I missed not one Dust, but two. I was still in it to win it at the end, but the Darkness caused me two misses against the Familiar. Even if those hit I still might have lost. A nice run for me today, no complaints here.
Final Score: 6
