I was looking at the WoW forums and read a thread about Moonlight. It’s been awhile since I’ve run a Moonlight so today I’m gonna use some Moonlight teams. I sense a Darkness snipe coming my way.

Game 1 (To The Moon)
Nether Fairie Dragon, Infected Squirrel, Fiendish Imp
vs. Hopling, Pet Bomling, Murkablo

081313CThe Imp Gated out the Bombling to start so I wouldn’t have to worry about a Minefield for awhile. Murkablo cam out to root and kill the Imp but the Imp Burned it down. The Imp was able to swap out for the Squirrel who did a lot of damage to both the Bombling and Hopling before dying. I didn’t need to use Moonfire until the end to finish off the Hopling.

Game 2 (Pho Queue)
Nether Fairie Dragon, Infected Squirrel, Fungal Abomination
vs. Direhorn Runt, Clockwork Rocket Bot, Snarly

081313BMy opponent started with the Rocket Bot as expected so I started with the Abomination and its Elemental attacks. What was unexpected was the Rocket staying in. It was utterly defeated. Rather than swap against Snarly I just kept the Abomination in to wear the croc down. After the Abomination expired my Dragon came in to finish off Snarly. Then the Squirrel had no problem taking down the Direhorn in Moonlight.

Game 3 (Mortimer Lifesquad)
Nether Fairie Dragon, Infected Squirrel, Molten Hatchling
vs. Darkmoon Tonk, Nordrassil Wisp, Kun-Lai Runt

081313DThis opponent runs away early all the time, I was hoping they would run and give me an easy challenge mode win. They made me work for it. This is a slow Wisp so I started with my Fairie Dragon and Dodged/Blasted. They kept the Wisp in so I had to swap twice when I got Blinded. I was able to take out the Wisp and the Tonk with a 200ish hp Fairie and 600ish hp Spider to face the Runt. I wasn’t quite sure what to do at the end when I was Chilled with my Spider. I thought I should damage the Runt as much as possible and try and finish it with my Fairie Dragon so I used Brittle Webbing. My opponent thought I was going to swap so they didn’t Deep Freeze. The extra damage was able to do secure the win.

Game 4 (Why Keep This)
Magical Crawdad, Emerald Whelpling, Scourged Whepling
vs. Gregarious Grell, Arctic Fox Kit, Scourged Whelpling

This is hilarious. A team I beat with no problems on a regular basis knocks me out of Challenge Mode. I have such bad luck with the Crawdad. I needed to kill the Fox so I could get a heal off, I missed a Snap. I could blame it on that, but the truth is I’m not comfortable playing with such slow teams, I don’t have the timing and flow down. I should practice with some slow teams. Hey, I didn’t get sniped by Darkness, my career as a fortune teller also comes to an end.

Game over.

Final Score: 3

  1. Doug c says:

I had the pets so I tried out Nether fairy dragon, infected squirrel, and fungal abomination for a few games.

Fungal abomination under performed. I expected him to be much tankier, but he got taken out quickly, and his abilities aren’t great on his undead turns. A final “absorb” on his last turn is just pathetic.

Infected squirrel was just ok, I didn’t have any problem with him but I wish he had some different type moves to cover from what the abomination lacked.

Nether fairy dragon over performed. I thought it would be extremely brittle. Mine is super fast and got dodge, moonlight, and maybe another hit in before I swapped to one of my “healers in moonlight.” They would disappoint me and I would swap back to the fairy dragon to put weather back up, to dodge and moonlight again. By the 4rth time she made an appearance her nuke was charged up and the enemy pets would tend to be low life making its high speed even more of a bonus sniping already low health pets.

I still had a losing record though, I don’t think moonlight is my thing. I just dumped a stack of gold for a Son of Animus so tomorrow I am going to test him out.

I also leveled a Tideskipper up. He has geyser and a root ability, one of the only pets I can think of that has Geyser/Ice tomb/type move as well as a root, it seems like there should be a use for him somewhere.
